Description

Limestone House was built in 1923. It has three rooms and an external cold room, all built from white limestone found on the Elizabeth Hill farm. The Galloway family lived there from 1922 to 1928. In the last 100 years, it has been home to a few families, farmers and goats! This old farmhouse will make it feel like you have taken a trip into the past. The space The three bedrooms are as follows; the front room (queen bed) with a small adjacent room with narrow single bed, a bunk room (6 x singles) with an additional queen bed, and a back room (queen bed). We have a working cold room, a gas freezer and a coal stove to warm the house on winter nights. Guest access Come and experience a real farm getaway at Limestone House, only one hour from Windhoek and accessible without a 4x4 via gravel roads. The house is adjacent to a barn, waterhole and small vegetable garden, which you are free to explore and use. You are welcome to take short walks in the veld. It is a working farm so expect to see tractors and goats passing by! Other things to note There is no electricity so come prepared to make use of the oil lamps and 'donkey' that heats the water. Cellphone reception is typically good when making calls.
