Description
Near Loch Ness - a spacious hillside lodge in an elevated position with stunning views. A rural location with a nearby sheep farm and direct access to heather-covered hills. High ceilings and modern fittings combine with the glass front to give an airy and tranquil feel. An open plan kitchen-living area leads to both bedrooms & en-suites. From the balcony - sit back, unwind and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. A perfect spot to watch weather roll across the glen or get into the wilderness. The space The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and kettle, as well as a good selection of cooking pans, utensils, glassware and crockery (including cafetière and teapot). There is a TV and DVD player (including selection of DVDs). A thermostat controls temperature. You can also use a large picnic table next to the pond behind the lodge. There is ramp access for wheelchairs or strollers. We welcome children. Please inform us ahead of time, and if need, be we can set up crib, travel cot, rollaway bed or air mattress in either the main bedrooms or in the living room. Our outdoor space is open, a bit wild and offers tremendous views and because we are high up and we face south, we also get a surprising amount of sunshine! We have a large open garden with a sloping lawn; a small pond with wildflowers around it and a stream runs down the side of the property. Near the stream you can find an old bench in a shady spot to sit down next to it or enjoy a paddle in summer. This is a spectacular part of the country, rich in historical and natural heritage. Staying here you are in the heart of the countryside. There is a breath-taking view from Torran View Lodge over Drumnadrochit and the hills beyond. Behind the property you can walk straight onto heather moors with scattered juniper and gorse, and it's a short walk to a small loch nestled in the hills, with views of Loch Ness and of the higher mountains to the West and Southeast.
