Beech cottage ~ cozy country stay close to York

Beech cottage is built on a tidy working farm, attached to the main farmhouse. It feels in the middle of nowhere, but is only 20 minutes from york, and easy for taxis to reach. Nearby are also the lovely seaside towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington, as well as many quaint old fishing villages such as robin hoods bay and sandsend. Many visitors also love the steam train from Pickering, castle Howard, the north york moors and Yorkshire woods. There are so many cosy local pubs too! The space The views are beautiful across fields and woods, with not another house in sight. Perfect for country lovers, who also want to visit york for a bit of city life. Dogs are very welcome, though we do ask they be kept off the furniture, and on a lead if they are likely to want to play with the free range chickens. There are endless walks straight from the cottage door, making the holiday a lovely break for your pet too! The cottage is simply and stylishly furnished. Very warm with underfloor heating and a log burner. Large bath and shower, and a comfy bed and sofa make this a perfect spot for travellers who need a cosy bolthole for visiting nearby attractions. Children also welcome, however their bed is a pull out double mattress from under the main bed. This is a bit of a squish in the bedroom but is the only way possible to provide for two extra guests. A breakfast menu is also available should you wish to indulge in something delicious delivered to your door. Other things to note Please note. The cottage is attached to our house and whilst we have of course tried to soundproof, and are respectful of our guests, some sound will still be heard. One of our fields has been turned into a campsite during the summer months and you will look out onto the tents from one of the bedroom windows ( not from downstairs ) and this will mean extra cars will be passing by during busier periods on the site, shouldn’t be disruptive but just wanted to make guests aware
