Cozy garden house 'Walnut Cottage' in Effeld

The Walnut Cottage is located in a small village close to the Dutch border. Here you can hike, ride a bike, enjoy a day at the lake, take a day trip to the nearby towns or just relax in the garden. The cottage is cozy and bright. It invites you to spend relaxing hours, be it a long breakfast in the small private garden or a reading marathon in the cozy bed on a rainy day. The space The accommodation is small but it has everything you need: the small kitchen has a stovetop, a refrigerator and other utensils that you need to prepare a meal. There is a small folding table with chairs and a comfortable bed (1.40 x 2 m). Underneath are pull-out drawers for your luggage. There is no running water in the kitchen, but a small BPA-free tank with tap water is provided for washing up and cooking and a glas container with drinking water, which can also be refilled regularly (just ask us). Behind the Walnut Cottage is your private garden (next to the neighboring property, but protected by a hedge). There is a table and chairs as well as two beach chairs. A short walk (approx. 150 m) through our garden and a workshop building and you get to the bathroom. Your own private bathroom is located in the main house and has a separate entrance - but it is in an area that is used by our family (so we will run into each other from time to time. If you have any questions or would like tips and suggestions , we are always happy to help :) Guest access There is a private entrance to Walnut Cottage. You can park for free on the adjacent street or in a nearby parking spot. At the parking lot is a charging station for electric vehicles. Other things to note I (Judith) run a pottery on our property. I´d be more than happy to show you my small showroom if you´d like to. Just ask me:) (insta: studioostieding) There is a small shop in the village where you can buy fresh baked bread, vegetables and many other things. Opening times: Mo: closed Tue - Fri: 6.30 - 12 // 15 - 19 Sa: 7 - 12 Su: 8 - 11 Please notice, that there is no Wlan in the cottage, as well as bad reception in the village. But a lot of our guests didn´t mind and said that it is a perfect opportunity to relax and spent some time in nature and away from the internet. Dogs are allowed (under certain conditions & prior agreement by the hosts) - for an additional cleaning fee. Because the house is very small, it is not well suited for particularly large dogs. We ask that you treat the house and our garden with care if you bring a dog with you. Please bring a basket/blanket, feeding bowl, towels for the dog, waste bags and everything else yourself. Unfortunately we cannot provide this. A very calm and nice dog lives in our household. If you are afraid of dogs, please let us know. We will make sure that she does not run around freely and unsupervised in the garden! Two old bikes are available to our guests. They're not the fastest, but they're comfortable...perfect for having a stroll in the surrounding area.
