Double bed, shared bathroom. 3 min walk to city bus. The space Come and stay in the sunny guest bedroom of this cute 1940's home. If you would like to combine Wellington's most beautiful coastal walks and nature with the opportunity to experience the city, this location is for you. The house has unrestricted views out over Wellington heads, and across to the ever-changing colours of the Orongorongo ranges - it's a beautiful view to soak up as you watch ships sail by. If you don't have your own car, a regular bus to the city is 3 minutes walk away. One of the city's most spectacular walks - the Eastern walkway - is 5 minutes from the door. If you are two friends (not a couple), there is a spare mattress and bedding which can go on the floor. Note that this would be a "cosy" arrangement as the bedroom is medium sized. The house and kitchen is mostly in original condition and is clean but is lived-in. Guest access Wireless internet access is available, as is tea and coffee and a simple breakfast of muesli, milk and yoghurt. Or, you might prefer to walk 10 min down the road to enjoy coffee and breakfast at the fabulous Gypsy Kitchen, one of Wellington's favourite cafes. I hope to meet and greet all my guests, however, this isn’t always possible, at such times I will expect you to let yourself in and make yourself at home. If you are wanting to use the kitchen for cooking, or wish to use the washing machine, let me know and we can determine together when they can be made available for use. Parking is available on the street. If I am not out and you are arriving from the airport or departing to go to the airport within the hours of 6.30 am and 9 pm, I may be available to drop you off or pick you up. Otherwise an uber is usually $10 (around 5 euro); a taxi $18-$20 (taxis add on an extra fee for airport drop off). Some guests with a light backpack prefer to walk (around 25 minutes). During your stay I work during the day so you will have privacy. I also have a small friendly dog, Alice who loves people!(see photos). I can do airport pickups and drop offs if I am around when you arrive and leave - the airport is 5 minutes drive. Or an uber is just 10 dollars (5 euro) or less. I'm happy to tell you about local attractions over a glass of wine or a coffee too; I will also be in and out, doing my own thing. The house is on the Miramar peninsula, near the airport and the Weta Cave (if you are interested in seeing where The Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit movies were made). We also have a great selection of restaurants and cafes in Miramar, a short distance away by bus or car. Other things to note If you like to combine a city experience with nature - bush walks and the coast - this is a great location. The house is small, functional and friendly.
