The Casa del Melograno is the one with the courtyard of the Musciarabia, from the Arabic Mušrabīya. The space La Casa del Melograno is the one where the path to access it is dotted with the scents, colors of Sicily and the influences that this region inherited from the presence of the Arabs in the past. It is a space closed on three sides and open from above; a fourth side, that of the Musciarabia, closes the courtyard. The grid, with its classic regular geometric openwork, typical of Islamic art and culture, allows shading on one side and the entry of the wind on the other; it creates a particularly favorable climatic condition for the development and protection of Mediterranean domestic plants, both ornamental and fruit-bearing. Consistent with this function, in the courtyard of the Musciarabia, a palm tree and in particular a pomegranate tree grow luxuriantly, from which we were inspired to identify this house. Around the base of the Palm tree, a wonderful carpet of delightful Calla lilies grows and blooms, which, with their green leaves and white flowers, in harmony with the Palm tree and the Pomegranate tree, allow the Musciarabia to make those who pass through it perceive and experience an intense feeling of Mediterranean influences. At the exit from the Musciarabia, the veranda of the House opens to the east, made with a reed roof; from it, through a large four-leaf door, you enter the interior where guests are welcomed in the large and bright living room, which overlooks the orchard garden. A highly distinctive element of the House, as well as of this area, is the presence of a large and efficient cooking corner in which the predominant element, as well as a link with the rural tradition of the area, is a cooking and work surface made with Ceramic Tiles produced by a Master Ceramist of Sciacca; they show the colors, designs, lines and inserts of a Sciacca ceramic production of the 1700s. The living room is equipped with all comforts; the furnishings combine tradition, typicality and rurality with simplicity, sobriety and essentiality. In the center of the room, special and comfortable designer armchairs allow you to spend fantastic moments of absolute relaxation. Outside the living room is the veranda covered with reeds; overlooking the orchard garden, it gives our guest friends the opportunity to travel through a sensory journey created naturally by the scents of the Mediterranean fruits and essences that ripen in that garden. In this cozy space, they can organize their moments dedicated to food and also enjoy the cool evenings that the temperate evening climate of Sicily gives us. Guest access In addition to the spaces specifically pertaining to the Casa del Melograno, Guests can enjoy the Belvedere on the Menfi Countryside that merges to the south with the Sea, as well as the Orto di Case Graffeo, obtained in a space delimited by a colorful hedge of Prickly Pears; the strictly Organic Vegetables that the Graffeo Family produces in this vegetable garden, can be picked directly by the Guests, and from these prepared for the preparation of delicious dishes of the local culinary tradition.
