Lovely rural place to stay for self catering holidays. We offer an authentic Mongolian Yurt or a vintage Shepherds hut. Situated about 3 miles outside of Totnes in a peaceful location in a 3 acre meadow. A choice of yurts which sleep 4 - 6 or a shepherds hut which sleeps 4 - prices vary during low to high season - please get in touch for more details. Yurts available during spring and summer months (easter to End September), shepherds hut available all year around. No pets allowed sorry. The space Our glamping holidays have been running since 2012, and we offer a very peaceful rural retreat within 3 miles of Totnes. Clear dark skies and plenty of wildlife surround our glamping site, with a view over the river Hems and a large lake in the next field. We are able to offer self catering holidays from Easter to the end of September in yurts (sleeping up to 4 people) and then during October - March our yurts are taken down and stored , so during these months the only available accommodation is the shepherds hut. This can sleep up to 4 persons in a double bed and 2 bunk beds, it has a lovely wood burning stove, and included is all your bedding but you need to bring your own towels. Beautifully cosy in winter, with a lovely view over the lake field. Nearest pub, the Tally Ho Inn is 3/4 of a mile away and about a 15 minute walk. Totnes is 3 miles away and has an eclectic mix of shops, weekly markets and lovely river boat trips down to Dartmouth. We have a selection of other yurts sleeping from 4 - 6 people in full sized beds. Please get in touch for more information. Guest access The glamping site has 4 yurts and one shepherds hut, they share a communal kitchen, 2 bathrooms with hot showers and flushing toilets. All bedding, cutlery crockery are provided, and each yurt and hut has a wood burning stove and outside seating area with fire pit, so camp fires are permitted for toasting marshmallows and star gazing! Guests are permitted to wander our fields and lake areas, but advise supervision for children around deep water. Other things to note Please note that our check in time is between 4 and 6pm. We are not able to be flexible with this because some guests have found our site difficult to find after dark in our rural location so we try to avoid guests getting lost at night in the country lanes. Please get in touch if you need to arrive outside these times. We will always endeavour to assist our guests as much as possible. That said although our location is rural we are only 3 miles from Totnes which is a lovely bohemian town with weekly markets and plenty of wonderful shops, bars bistros and even a castle to explore. The nearest pub is a short walk, of 3/4 of a mile away at Littlehempston, where local produce is ample as well as a choice of local wines, beer and cider. We are close to Dartmoor and local beaches alike and have lots of recommendations for things to do and places to visit whilst staying with us.
