A country resort with 4 cottages with pool, sauna, hot tub and spa within the grounds of a Georgian manor estate for exclusive hire, with access to tennis court, private forest and lake. Located in the heart of Devon, the estate is surrounded by rolling countryside and Dartmoor national park, with breathtaking panoramic views. The 4 cottages with total 9 ensuite luxurious bedrooms making this a perfect place to create lasting memories. The space The accommodation comprises four newly renovated cottages, situated around a private courtyard. The Coach House – 3 bedrooms – sleeps up to 8 The Coach House is the largest cottage. It was refurbished in 2016 and is entered from the parking area, down steps through a small courtyard. The Coach House has three bedrooms, one with a king bed, one with a double bed, and one with twin beds. There are two further folding beds that can be set up in this room. There are also three bathrooms upstairs. Downstairs is the sitting room, kitchen/dining room (seats eight), utility room with washer/dryer, and cloakroom/toilet. There is underfloor heating on the ground floor, under bamboo flooring, and there is also a log-burner to keep The Coach House cosy in winter. There is a hot tub in the enclosed Coach House garden. The Apartment – 1 or 2 bedrooms – sleeps up to 4 The Apartment is accessed from the Coach House garden. Most of the refurbishment work here was completed in 2017, apart from the kitchen, which was completed in 2021. Accommodation within The Apartment is flexible: it can be set up as one bedroom with a double bed and a sitting room, or as two bedrooms, one with a sofa bed, or two sitting rooms. It can sleep up to 4 people. It also has an en-suite shower room and a second cloakroom/toilet. The Cottage –2 bedrooms – sleeps up to 4 The Cottage redevelopment was completed in 2019. It was restructured as a two-bedroom building (it could have been four), to provide a double-height space for the solar atrium and an internal glazed balcony overlooking the dining area. One bedroom has a double bed, the other has twin beds that can be joined to form a double. Both bedrooms are en-suite. There is also a guest cloakroom/toilet. One bedroom has a glazed balcony overlooking the piazza. The ground floor of The Cottage is open plan. The dining table here can be extended to provide a setting for a group of up to 20 people to dine together. There is underfloor heating on the ground floor, under oak flooring, and there is also a log-burner to keep the cottage cosy in winter. The Studio – 2 bedrooms – sleeps up to 4 The Studio is the most recent conversion. It has two bedrooms on the ground floor, each with en-suite shower rooms. Both bedrooms have twin/double beds. There is a cosy open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with a log-burner on the upper floor. The Studio also features a glazed balcony overlooking the piazza. There is also a cot available for use in any of the cottages. General Information The Cottage, Apartment and Studio open onto the piazza. We can arrange dining tables in different configurations so guests can gather and dine alfresco as desired. There are toilets at the corner of the piazza. This area is being further developed to include a laundry and large freezer. The Coach House has a washing machine/dryer. The other accommodation buildings do not have their own clothes washing machines, but a new laundry room will be ready in the autumn. The swimming pool is 6m by 12m with Roman steps and ceramic tiles. It is heated by an air-source heat pump. It has been in use since 2018. There is also a sauna, and these facilities can be used year-round. This includes a glazed area where guests can relax undercover. This can also be used as a protected dining space in the case of inclement weather. There is a large terrace with a glass rail, providing panoramic views and along with a dining table, there are lounge chairs and coffee tables. There are plans to resurface the tennis court, but amateur players will find it perfectly serviceable as is. There is an automatic ball-serving machine. The lake in the grounds has been deepened and is suitable for swimming. Swimming is at guests own risk. There are walkways around the lake and forest. There is a fire pit barbecue is in a clearing in the woods, with ample supplies of fuel. This is a perfect location for an evening cook out. The Manor Estate also runs wellness treatment spa, with 8 seater hydro pool spa (adults only) and spa lounge with panoramic country view. Guest access Guests have access to the outdoor heated swimming pool (usurally heated between May and October), sauna, and hot tub (all year round), and have exclusive use of the tennis court, as well as being able to explore the Estate's grounds, garden, private forest and lake, where wild swimming is possible. In addition, there is a private courtyard/piazza for the cottages, and enclosed garden with private hottub.
