Nestled among the green hills of the Tuscan countryside in an historic part of Florence, the Property dates back to the 14th century (with the Villa Antica being the oldest part) and is situated in the Paradiso degli Alberti (Heaven of the Alberti, family of Leon Battista Alberti renowned Florentine Architect) and only 3 km from the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. Enjoy the private swimming pool surrounded by olive and cypress trees, hearing the birdsong and the joyous ringing of the Badiuzza bells and seeing the squirrels and pheasants running around while being so close to the principal museums and architectural masterpieces of the amazing city of Florence... ...and during the winter months, relax by the beautiful fireplaces, reading a book in the cosy atmosphere reminiscent of the bygone past... The swimming pool area is furnished with lounges and sun loungers and has barbecue facility and a pizza oven. Romantic dinners or sunny breakfast can be enjoyed in the garden under the olive trees, on the garden table and chairs provided. The fascinating grounds and flower garden with old terracotta flower pots scattered around and some fruit trees are reserved for guests as part of the villa The upper floor of the main Villa with its old Tower has been newly renovated with luxury finishes, travertine bathrooms and parquet flooring throughout and it can accommodate up to 14 people. There is 7 bedrooms (5 ensuite) 6 of the bedrooms have king size beds (180x200) and 6 beautiful bathrooms (5 with shower and one with antique ceramic bath), two lounges with beautiful fireplaces (also in one of the bedrooms) and dining area two kitchen areas and two terraces overlooking the gardens. The bottom floor is reserved and the Banquet Lounge can be rented on request. The kitchen on the ground floor is reserved for private chef (cooking courses, dinners etc.) The Villa Antica can accommodate up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms (3 ensuite) It has a country kitchen, fully fitted and well equipped, dining room with beautiful volted ceiling and living room with ancient sandstone fireplace Four bedrooms are on the top floor, one on the bottom floor. The cottage Limonaia accommodates 2 people (one double bed) and has its own kitchenette and bathroom (with shower and bathtub). All the rooms are furnished with antique furniture and paintings, so as to keep the Tuscan traditional feeling of the villa and representing the Family History. Parking, Wifi and fresh high quality towels and linen with welcome toiletries are provided as well as satellite tv with dvd player, and children games (monopoly, chess, trivial pursuit ...) and history and literature books. Aircon is in every bedroom and there is three laundry rooms with washing machine /dryer The bus stop is 50mt from entrance to property (please inquire about timetables, as the bus runs at different times). Tickets should be purchased at any Tabaccheria. Shops/restaurants from about 500 mt away. Bicycle can be rented outside the property (please enquire) Cooking courses, catering, dinners can be arranged on request as well as stunning specialised and personalised tours of Tuscany up to the Cinque Terre. The main Villa has 7 bedrooms (5 ensuite, two sharing a bathroom), two lounges with dining area and stunning views. The Lodge has 5 bedrooms (3 ensuite), with a lounge, a dining room and a kitchen, the cottage has one bedroom with kitchenette and ensuite bathroom (with shower and bath). The bottom floor of the main Villa is reserved and some of the Lounges can be rented on request for celebrations, dinners, weddings, conferences, team building. The garden floor Kitchen is reserved for Private Chef (cooking courses/dinners etc) The whole property is decorated with Antiques Caretakers live on the property Other things to note In the rate is included : towels/linen, wifi, private parking up to 5 cars. Should you need a change of towels/linen or daily bed tidying up, this can be provided at extra costs and needs to be booked at time of reservation. We normally give 3 sets of keys, should you need more, please let us know at least one week prior to arrival. If you decide to rent a car, please remember that the street in Florence are not wide (and parking in the city is not always easy available), so we would recommend smaller size cars.
