Ideally located, this cottage will seduce you with its proximity to the city of Quimper (4 minutes), and the most beautiful beaches of Finistère (10 minutes), while being in the countryside - We renovated this building where the press and cider barrels of the old farm were once stored. This property was a Gallo-Roman villa and then a small manor house. Only a small 15th century turret remains of this manor. The cottage is labeled Gites de France 3 stars. The space This cottage is located in an old farmhouse (we are labeled Gites de France 3 stars). We renovated one of the buildings that was once called "the cider cellar". Each farm had its own cellar in which was the press with the necessary accessories for making cider and the barrels for storing and preserving it. We wanted to keep the existing walls and openings. One of the walls is covered with a lime-hemp plaster. We have also equipped this building with wide doors allowing accessibility for people with reduced mobility. All the work was done by local artisans, whose reputation is well established. In the main room, there is the kitchen area and for conviviality the sitting area. The bathroom is spacious and equipped with a walk-in shower and toilet. The bedroom (parquet floor) with garden view is bright, equipped with a queen size bed, a dresser to allow storage of clothes and accessories. We have attached great importance to the quality of the bedding (locally manufactured as well). A staircase allows you to access the Mezzanine (hardwood floors) in which there are two single beds. You have a private terrace. You can eat there, (a barbecue is at your disposal), rest while listening to the melodious song of the birds. You can also walk around or simply stop in the shade of the apple trees. About two kilometers from the accommodation, you can access the towpaths that will take you to Quimper along this beautiful river, the Odet. You will have magnificent views of the spires of Quimper Cathedral. We have the possibility to store your bikes for the time of your stay. Outside the summer season, we will charge you a contribution to heating costs (meter reading on arrival and departure). Guest access The entire property is at your disposal. You have a private parking space. The terrace and front garden surrounding the cottage are entirely for you. We offer a bicycle storage room – non-private. Additionally, if you're traveling by motorcycle, we can also store your motorcycles in a closed hangar. Other things to note This accommodation is easily accessible, less than 5 minutes from the center of Quimper (10 minutes from the SNCF train station), 5 minutes from Quimper-Pluguffan Airport, 3 minutes from a convenience store and a bakery. We are on the way to the beaches (10 minutes from the sea). Our cottage is at the crossroads of many tourist places (Pont l'Abbé, Penmarch, La Torche, La Pointe du Raz, Locronan, Concarneau etc.) EXCLUDING SUMMER PERIODS: we will charge for electricity consumption – meter reading on arrival and departure.
