A HOMELY PLACE IN A GREAT AREA OF H K!

A lovely, warm, peaceful and calm space for 1 or 2 people (or perhaps 3 - read further), in a space that is shared with me, a South African living in Hong Kong. I am single, an early years educator, love my work with children and enjoy travelling in my down time. Near to shops, restaurants and night life, but away from the hustle and bustle! 3 minutes walk from the MTR (train station) and on Hong Kong Island, so easy to get to places. Come and enjoy. I live on the top floor in a 2 bedroom apartment in an old Chinese building in a 5th floor walk up (meaning there are no lifts). There is a lovely, open rooftop area which no longer has furniture on it, but it is a place where you can still get a great view of the surrounds. I am offering 1 bedroom with two single beds in it, with excellent quality beds and mattresses from the United Kingdom, bedside tables and lamps, an air conditioner and black out curtains to keep the early morning light out. There is also a wooden hanging and shelving unit, as well as a hair dryer and heater for your convenience. The room has large windows and is a light and airy room, with simple yet lovely decor. The second bedroom is mine, and you will be sharing the apartment with me if I am here. The lounge/study has a couch and a single seater with a desk area. Wi-fi is available in the apartment. There is a kitchen with an induction cooker (one plate), mini oven, juicer, Vitamix blender, washing machine and refrigerator. You are welcome to use the washing machine and washing powder at a rate of HKD 50 per load. An iron and ironing board is available free of charge. As an alternative to doing your own washing and ironing, there is a laundrette downstairs (one minute walk from the apartment entrance). The wet room (bathroom), although small is sufficient and efficient with a shower, toilet and hand basin. Please note that the hot water doesn't last for more than around 15 minutes, depending on how strongly you choose to shoot the water out; thereafter it will need time to heat up again, so shorter and more gentle showers are preferable. This seems to suit guests well. This is a vegan (no animal or animal product consumption) and non-smoking home (can smoke on the rooftop or outside the apartment building). Local shops such as The Marketplace by Jasons, Wellcome, ParknShop and the wet markets (where you can purchase fresh fruit and vegetables) are within a few minutes walking distance. In the street that I live on, there are two places that I know of that serve delicious breakfasts, and there are two bakeries and a Japanese restaurant but a few seconds away from the entrance to the apartment complex. If you feel in need of a massage, I highly recommend Bom Bom Lifestyle and Spa, which is in the same road as my apartment is. A wonderful massage! My home is a sanctuary and a peaceful place to be. Guest access There is access to the whole apartment and the rooftop, except for my bedroom. During your stay It will be lovely to get to know you. I love being social, but will respect your privacy, as I know you will respect mine. I enjoy engaging with people, and perhaps we will share time together, depending on availability. However, I am also happy for people to come and enjoy the space and do their own thing, with minimal interaction with me. If I am away, then we will have contact via email/watts app, and there will be someone to assist. Other things to note Hong Kong gets very humid and hot, and all apartments, shops, MTRS, buses, shopping malls, etc. - in fact, in most spaces in Hong Kong there is air conditioning, which is wonderful and well-needed. It is a place that is vibrant and crazy, with many wonderful opportunities to see the beauty of nature through hiking, kayaking, walking, going to the beach, etc. Please remember the apartment is at the top of a 5th floor walk up building. There are no lifts, so it is a good idea to pack lightly as there is no bellman to help carry bags up the stairs.
