Tradewinds Suite is a spacious, air-conditioned studio, boasting a 180-degree view from the Haleakala volcano, across a rain forest valley, to the ocean and neighboring island of Molokai. It occupies the ground floor of a 2-story pole house; your hosts live upstairs. There are no shared or common areas. Your living space, garden, Jacuzzi and lanai are exclusively yours. Most of our guests are honeymoon couples, and they consistently report experiencing complete privacy, while at the same time feeling taken care of. Your hosts have implemented safety measures, in accordance with public health recommendations, to reduce the risk of COVID-19 contagion. In addition, there is an on-site Urgent Care physician, available by appointment if needed. You'll receive full details when a reservation is confirmed. If your reservation is affected by a governmental travel restriction which is announced after confirming your booking, your hosts will apply any pre-paid deposit to a future reservation, subject to having vacancy for the dates you prefer. This area is suited for hiking, biking, surfing or windsurfing, exploring the dormant volcano, taking a day trip to Hana, and trekking in the rainforest, bamboo jungle and waterfalls. It is conveniently located for exploring the entire island, but removed from the traffic, crowds and high-rise development on the "tourist" side of the island. When you check in, you'll be greeted with aloha and oriented to the Suite. After that, your hosts will be available on request, but otherwise, you won't see or hear us or another guest. The island is only 40 miles long and 8 miles wide. But there is very little public transportation. When you check in, we'll make a Xerox of your credit card, which serves as a security deposit. We do not require Airbnb to authorize your credit card for a specified amount of security deposit, so we have not entered a maximum amount which guests may be charged for loss or damage to property. However, we do require guests to review and sign our own rental agreement, when we acknowledge their reservation. The agreement provides that guests are responsible for property loss or damage beyond normal wear and tear. We also require the names of all guests who will accompany you.
