Mad River Valley Family Basecamp - Lower Unit

Prime location! 5 min drive to Lawson's, restaurants (Mad Taco, Canteen,+more), groceries, hiking trails and shopping. 15-20 mins to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen. Lots of other outdoor activities nearby. This cozy 3BR 1BA basecamp sleeps 6 guests for your year round Mad River Valley exploration. Full Kitchen, Wifi, and TV with ROKU. Queen beds in each bedroom. This garden apartment is a perfect base camp for your outdoor exploration. I hope you’ll come stay in our home and explore Vermont. The space This is the lower unit apartment of a duplex with the upper unit housing my family. You will hear foot traffic and noise from above. It is an older home that we updated with newer finishes. Most people love it, but please recognize it is not a fancy hotel. It is a great space for hanging with family and friends. Perfect for 2-6 guests with 3 small bedrooms, a full bathroom and a full kitchen. The living room offers a wood plank ceiling and has a big sectional couch for some apres or movie night hangouts. Beds- Each of the 3 bedrooms are equipped with a queen bed. This is a clean, cozy, and comfortable space with everything you need to rest your bodies after long days of exploring. Although the space is nice, it will feel small for larger groups, especially if inside all day. The upper unit is occupied so light sleepers may want to use the sound machines provided.l in each bedroom. Expect to hear some noise and little feet from above. Folks may also come across an occasional spider as this is a house nestled into the rural mountains of Vermont. No matter how hard we try to keep them out a few find their way inside. Easy 5 minute drive to local shopping, great restaurants, grocery stores, Lawson’s finest liquids and Sugarbush and Mad River are just 15-20 mins away. Located just a mile off route 100 makes this spot super easy to get to and from. Close to many great hiking trails and swimming holes in the summer. Great cross country and backcountry skiing as well as access to many different ski areas. Guest access 1 mile off Rt 100 on a paved road makes this spot easy to get to and from any time of year (although AWD/4X4 and snow tires recommended in the winter anywhere in VT). Easy no stairs access to the lower unit outdoor exploration base camp. You have the whole lower level of the building to yourselves (upper unit is occupied). You will enter the unit from the driveway under the deck into the sliding glass door. No steps to enter the apartment for those with limited mobility. Great location right off a paved road central to all the mad river valley has to offer. Easy to find and easy in and out in all seasons. Short drive to so much outdoor fun and many cool attractions. Feel free to ask us for ideas on what to do or where to go. Full kitchen with everything you need to make your favorite meal- if you can’t find something you need ask because we have lot of utensils etc. upstairs in our unit. Take advantage of the amazing local food and make a full meal right in you unit. If you don’t feel like cooking there are tons of great food options within 5-10 min drive. The yard is shared access with us upstairs as well as without guests. You will have access to your own gas grill (please keep this clean!) and some patio furniture in the side yard for guests staying during warmer times of the year. Washer and dryer in your unit. We also offer a pack and play and toys/books for small kids available upon request. Other things to note Our apartment is is perfect for active groups that want to explore the outdoor activities of the area. The space is clean, comfortable, has all you need to prepare a good meal which makes a great place to rest your tired body after exploring. It is a good size apartment (1000sqft) some groups may feel a bit confined if you spend a lot of time inside. Come and explore the outdoors and don’t miss out on experiencing the beautiful mad river valley. The Mad River Valley boasts, fine/casual dining, Lawson’s Craft beer, Vermont Local shopping, Skiing, Hiking, Arts, Golf, Biking, Canoeing and Kayaking, Waterfalls, Soaring, Organic local produce, Many swimming holes, concerts and festivals, weddings, Farmer's markets, Ben and Jerry's, and so much more. Burlington is just a 45 minute drive with many more options.
