The house is set in a beautiful, rolling country garden - just a short walk from a sandy beach. Our house is one of 4 stone houses that make up a tiny hamlet. It is a countryside haven by the beach. All the surrounding land is protected against housing development and remains traditional, small scale farming land. We are less than 500m from the beach "le Sausseye"... a short walk through country trails. The main house has 3 large bedrooms: a double with a view of the sea, a double with high barn ceiling (this is a mezzanine bedroom over a vestibule and bathroom) and the green bedroom with two single beds, and a fourth single bedroom in the sheep’s pen with exposed stone work (this room is not suitable for the cold months of November to February). The house has 2 1/2 bathes: a bathroom with an antique bathtub, a shower room, a separate toilet. The house also has a large (50m2), open living room-dining room-kitchen area. The living room has a great old fireplace. The house has a large private garden, which has a lovely view of the sea... and a perfect spot for sundowners. We have a fifth bedroom available from May to end of September (additional cost to be agreed). It is a large loft above the barn. This beautiful space is ideal for a couple, with a basic kitchenette and independent shower room. It offers beautiful views of the sea. The ground floor is the garage where we store our boat, bikes and garden equipment. We are 3km from the town of Cancale, which is in north Brittany. You can get to Cancale by car from Paris via Caen (4h-4h15); by train from Paris Montparnasse to St-Malo (3h), which is a 15mn drive away; by plane from London to Rennes, which is a 50 mn drive to the house. Bus to St-Malo stops nearby. We use our bikes a lot, take long walks along the coastal footpath, and use the car for groceries or visits. Guest access You will have the whole house to yourself. And access to a large garden and prairie. You can also use our bikes to go into town. I love arriving in a new place with the beds made and the kitchen semi-stocked so the vacation can start as soon as the luggage hits the floor.
