Dar Gaia - Living Djerba differently
Description
Dar Gaia offers you the unique opportunity to stay at home, in the enchanting setting of an authentic Menzel Djerbien. A haven of peace in the countryside of this island " where the air is so mild that it prevents death " (Flaubert). This self-catering accommodation (called Farghana) is part of a 3ha Menzel (Dar Gaïa), has a summer kitchen (with BBQ) and is located 70m from the main house. The pool is shared with the other guests. The space Dar Gaïa is the second release of the Tingitingi® project. So, she was named in tribute to Mother Earth, a nursery land, a crucial mother, source and culminating in everything. Tingitingi® is the word Swahili (pronouncing tïngui-tïngui) to designate a footbridge… This word brings the sublevel image of a more balanced north-south relationship, and sprays in the weaving of direct relationships between men and women of different cultures, the foundation of a world of solidarity. The Tingitingi® project is intended to promote fair, social, social and eco-friendly tourism. Tourism that allows hosting communities to value their cultures, and for the guest to thrive in respect of the environment visited, its cultural diversity and its internal balances. Dar Gaïa fully embraces fair tourism standards, and promotes direct contact with local communities. The Menzel only works with native host communities and local service providers (children's coaching, tour guides, cultural and/or themed tours, theme workshops, etc.) selected for, in addition to the quality of their services, their integrity, and their desire to balance economic and sustainability. In this connection, Dar Gaïa is committed to making the visitor aware of the balance to preserve, ensuring that they adhere to the spirit of responsible tourism, and ensuring that it is incorporated in the best possible conditions. A haven of peace in the middle of the Djerbian countryside, consisting of a Houch (traditional habitat with interior patios/gardens) and its outbuildings, all set on a 2.5-acre estate of orchards, olive trees and date palms. Capitalizing on this unique setting, the Gaia initiative aims to account for the richness of the island, highlighting its natural, cultural and architectural heritage, driving off-the-beaten-path visitor, and promoting tourism with a strong socio-cultural element. Dar Gaïa is a renowned Menzel, who emerges from its long leethargy to regain its old-fashioned functions and centuries-old organization. Its typical and simple architecture, its green setting, its 23-meter pool, and its "countryside " position will make you think of Flaubert's words reminiscent of Djerba's words like the island " where the air is so mild that it prevents from getting away." A timeless trip awaits you… In addition to the Farghana outbuilding (of this listing), Dar Gaïa offers 3 guest rooms (for 2 people) , 2 junior suites (for 2 adults + possibly 2 children) and 2 senior suites, furnished around two themes : the Silk Road and the Salt Road.
