Maison La Lanterne is a hidden gem in Bassigney

Welcome to Maison La Lanterne, hosted by Eliza&Michael, nestled in the peaceful village of Bassigney in Franche-Comté, just an hour from the Vosges. Here, life slows down. A place to reconnect with nature and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Spend your days hiking, cycling or canoeing on the river, exploring nearby towns, visiting local farms. Back at the house, enjoy cozy yet stylish interiors designed for rest and inspiration or take part in one of the creative workshops with the hosts. The space The house is spacious and filled with natural light, offering breathtaking views of the river, and surrounding countryside. Each of the three bedrooms is approximately 20 m² and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. Two rooms overlook the garden and river, while the third has views over the church and village. Every room features a double bed, and two of the rooms also include an additional single bed, allowing up to 8 guests to stay comfortably. A baby cot and high chair are available upon request. The house includes two bathrooms: one with a shower and one with a bathtub + shower. *** Please note: there is only one toilet in the house, located on the first floor. *** Guest access You can park in front of the house (2-3 cars) free of charge. Other things to note ACTIVITIES Please note that this region of France is best suited for those seeking nature, tranquility, and a slower pace of life. It is a wonderful place to relax, reconnect, and enjoy simple pleasures such as hiking, cycling, visiting local farms and villages, or discovering authentic local culture. Many attractions are located within a short driving distance. Maison La Lanterne may not be the ideal destination for guests looking for busy city life or highly touristic attractions nearby. PETS To preserve the comfort and quality of the guesthouse for all visitors, pets are unfortunately no longer accepted. NUMBER OF GUESTS • The maximum capacity of the house is 8 guests (including children). Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate additional guests. • In the case of arriving with a pet or more guests than indicated in the reservation, we reserve the right to refuse entry or apply an additional fee. HOUSE EQUIPMENT • Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge. Please do not use bath towels outside the house, we kindly ask guests to bring their own beach or outdoor towels if needed. • Coffee machines available: Philips Senseo and filter coffee machine. • The house is not equipped with a TV, but you will find plenty of books and board games to enjoy during your stay. HEATING • The house is mainly heated by two fireplaces, which help create its cozy atmosphere. Guests will need to maintain the fire to keep the house warm during colder months. Firewood is included in the price. • During winter, the average temperature in the bedrooms is around 18-20°C. CLEANING • We simply ask guests to leave the house in a tidy condition: please clean up after cooking, place rubbish in the bins, and start the dishwasher before departure.
