Description

REOPENED FOR BOOKINGS! Our newly built (2018) wooden tiny house combines cozy charm with luxurious comfort. Nestled in a private area, it offers plenty of space around the house and opens up to a vast grassy field — a protected bird sanctuary — right outside your glass doors. Perfect for couples or friends looking to unwind. Small pets are welcome upon request. If you're in need of a break from a hectic lifestyle or simply want to relax after a busy day in Amsterdam, this is the ideal spot. The space Where is it located? Durgerdam is a charming village in the northern part of Amsterdam. It consists of just one street — the Durgerdammerdijk — which is actually a historic dyke, originally built to protect the Netherlands from high water levels. This authentic rural area, once a traditional fishing village, offers a peaceful escape while still being close to the vibrant city of Amsterdam. Easily accessible from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (23 km), you’ll find us just off the A10 ring road, exit S115 'Durgerdam'. The tram/busstation is 10 minutes away by bike. From there the metro will bring you straight to Amsterdam city center. By bike the center is beautiful 25-30 minutes ride. By car 10 minutes (but parking is paid) So, Durgerdam is officially part of Amsterdam, but it lies just outside the busy city. In Durgerdam you'll find an exceptionally good and highly rated restaurant: De Mark - Durgerdam. Just 5 minutes away is De Landmarkt — a supermarket known for its delicious delicacies and high-quality products. About the Tiny House Your tiny house is tucked away at the end of a spacious garden, behind a historic dyke house. You’ll have your own entrance, ensuring privacy throughout your stay. Inside the 20m² space, you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable and cozy getaway. The small but well-equipped kitchen includes: Induction cooktop (2 burners) Fridge with a small freezer compartment Electric kettle Nespresso machine All necessary cookware, utensils, and tableware are provided. (including tea, sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil) The modern bathroom features: A relaxing rain shower Sleeping arrangements A built-in loft with a solid wooden staircase gives access to a cozy double mattress (140x200 cm) with 1 duvet. There's also a sofa in the living area suitable for one person. An extra single duvet is in the tiny house if you do not want to share the bed/duvet. Planning to stay with more than two guests? Please contact me in advance to discuss the options Parking & Public Transport Durgerdam is a protected heritage area, so parking on the dyke is only for residents. However, there is a free parking area about a 12-minute walk away. I’m happy to lend you two bicycles so you can easily park there and ride back to the house. If you prefer to park closer, there is a paid parking area just a 4-minute walk from the house. Loading and unloading in front of the house is allowed — you may off course briefly stop on the dyke to drop off or pick up your luggage. By bike, you can reach Central Station, the Rijksmuseum, or Rembrandtplein in about 25 minutes. By car, it takes just 25 to 30 minutes to get to the Zaanse Schans, Volendam, or the North Sea beach.1 Getting here from the airport Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is 23 km away — about 22 minutes by car. An Uber typically costs between €40 and €75, depending on the time of day. A train ticket from Schiphol to Amsterdam Central is less than 10 euro. Of course, I am happy to give you advice about transportation. Guest access If you enjoy cycling, you should definitely explore Amsterdam by bike. You’re welcome to use the two basic bikes (with locks) that come with the house — perfect for a relaxed ride into the city. If you prefer newer, faster, or electric bikes, it's best to rent those nearby. I am sorry to say that the Tiny House is hardly accessible for wheelchairs. Other things to note - Welcome to bring a (small) animal, please contact me in advance - if you want to stay in the Tiny House for a longer time and/or for single use, contact me for adapted rates - bedlinnenn and towels are included in the rate. - The Tiny House has electronic heating integrated in the floor, so also in wintertime it is a cosy place.
