Secluded location, one mile from Porthtowan Beach. Next to a wooded valley with walks to the cliffs, beach, pubs and cafes. Recently built annexe to our old cottage, on the site of an 1850’s copper crusher mining engine. A labour of love with modern decor and an ethnic style. Self-contained with a wood-burner, garden and woods with a fire pit. A true getaway all year round! Perfect for families and small groups. Dogs welcome. Three miles from the A30 so a great base for exploring Cornwall. The space Copper Crusher has been built with a lot of love and thought. We’ve tried to cover all needs. The living space is very light, with an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge with a double story high ceiling with large open mezzanine with glass balustrade. There is a large wood-burner with stunning copper chimney flue! Ideal after a walk or surf in the storms of winter. The main bedroom is a large room with super king or twin bed options and has an ensuite bathroom with a large walk-in shower and toilet, and large double doors on to a Juliette balcony. Bedroom two is a standard double, again with double doors on to a Juliette balcony. Separate 2nd bathroom with large walk-in shower. The floor sofa on the mezzanine is made of two mattresses which can be made into a double bed or two singles. The mezzanine overlooks the downstairs living space and makes an ideal chill space. Bed linen, bath towels, tea towels, toilet paper and hand soap is provided. Please bring your own towels for the beach. For those with very young children we have a small child’s bath that fits in the showers (our 4 and 6 year old nephews and nieces love the showers). We also have a fireguard. There's a washing machine in our end which can be used if we're in. The annexe has its own garden and a small woodland with a fire pit so you can toast those marshmallows! In the last year we have seen green woodpeckers, a Little Owl, foxes, plenty of buzzards and a couple of peregrine falcons. A BBQ is available and we include charcoal, kindling and firewood within the price. Access is separate to the main house entrance and is through a door into a shared store room (ideal for surfboards, wetsuits, wellies and other gear), then into Copper Crusher. Off road private parking for two or three cars.
