Description

Dear Guests, Welcome to your serene retreat! Discover this bright gem in Kakrc—a charming fisherman's village of historic stone houses, perfectly positioned between Boka Bay and the Adriatic. While seaside towns are nearby, you'll find a quiet haven with breathtaking views, delightful scents, and unforgettable sunsets. If you appreciate nature’s simple pleasures and a unique ambiance, this is the ideal spot. P.S. Please read the full description for deeper insight and essential details! The space The apartment is located in an old fisherman’s village called Kakrc, a hidden jewel located at the best position in The Bay of Boka Kotorska. The village itself is a part of its cultural heritage protected by the Institute of Architecture. The village never had any inhabitants in the true sense of the word, since the owners did not actually live there, but were locals whose residential houses stood just a few miles uphill. They used those small houses for storage of their homemade wine and their fishing nets, as well as the oars for their boats called “barke”. The houses would usually have straw beds so that the fishermen could take naps after long fishing nights. In the last few decades, things began to change – most houses were reconstructed and converted into guest houses whose visitors would instantly fall in love with this truly amazing place. The locals selfishly kept this place hidden from the eyes of tourists for years trying to prevent their overflow. They even refused to ease the access by letting the cars get closer to the village and insisted on keeping this jewel nice and quiet as it always has been. The apartment itself is quite small, but it's ideal for couples. It is not luxurious, so if you're looking for a jacuzzi or 50-inch plasma TV you definitely won't find it here (actually there is a 50-inch TV). The ground floor is very simple as there is only a kitchen and a tiny bathroom, and the upper floor is basically a bedroom with a balcony. So please note that the greatest value of this little apartment lies in its position and stunning views, instead of luxury furnishing, etc. Guest access Guests will have full access to the entire apartment, as well as the little terrace in front of it. Additionally, they are free to explore and enjoy the beautiful surrounding area. Other things to note There is no designated parking, but guests can park on the street about 70 meters uphill from the apartment. It is a safe area, and we have never received reports of any issues. However, please note that you will need to walk down a steep, narrow path to reach the apartment. While I’m required to inform you about this, it’s generally not a concern for guests. As mentioned earlier, the true value of this apartment lies in its incredible location and breathtaking views rather than luxury furnishings. It is a compact (24 m² duplex), modest, and simply furnished space, with future renovations planned—so please set your expectations accordingly. The apartment is part of a historic stone house from the 1800s, which has been divided into three separate units, each with a different owner. The unit I rent is in the middle. If you visit during the off-season, you may find yourself the only resident in both the house and the entire village. In contrast, July and August bring more guests, and you will likely have neighbors. This could also mean reduced privacy, as other guests might be staying very close to you. Additionally, during the high season, the village’s usually peaceful jetty can become a bit crowded, and some noise from visitors and other guests may make the atmosphere less tranquil than at other times of the year. Traffic congestion is also common along the coastal roads in peak season, which can result in longer travel times. While the charm and beauty of the area remain, please keep in mind that the experience differs depending on the season...and weather. The terrace in front of the apartment is private but also serves as a passageway for other (neighboring) guests.
