PLEASE NOTE: due to the ongoing drought, large sections of the Blanco river are dry, including ours! The River House is a stone house set above the Blanco river among huge oak trees. From the quaint, screened entry porch to the large deck with oak trees rising through it, the River House is a relaxing space for you to while away the hours. Kick back with your favorite beverage, put something on the grill and relax to the sounds of nature. And the stars are awesome! The space Originally built in the 1970s as a vacation home, the River House sits on a gentle sloping hill with magnificent oak trees, several which the deck incorporates. This is a quiet, relaxing setting with nature as your view. Sunsets under the trees above the river bed are beautiful. Though the river does not flow above ground year round, it nonetheless is a serene setting- great for morning coffee and evening cocktails! Guest access Guest have access to the Blanco River, which, flowing or not, it is a beautiful view that you are sure to enjoy. Other things to note The River House is great for couples, friends and familes (children must be no more than 2 years old or 12 years and over) wanting to get away, cook a great meal and chill. Excellent setting for artist and writers. Internet access for browsing and streaming music, streaming DirecTV & cell service. Guest supply their own firewood, which can be purchased locally at HEB, Ace Hardware and Brookshire Bro’s. Duraflame type logs are not allowed. For your listening enjoyment, we have the Sonos wireless speaker system that you access using your phone/tablet/laptop. Download the free app to your device, connect to Sonos and listen to your music services and/or ours (YouTube Music.) Many scenic drives, an award winning regional park-Blue Hole in Wimberley, famous Jacobs Well natural area, Emily Ann theatre, The Wimberley Players theater and local restaurants, to name a few : Mima's (TexMex), The Leaning Pear, Wimberley Cafe, The Shady Llama (beer/wine, great views) and others. Casual attire at all establishments. And don't forget the many shops in and around the town square. Book your stay over the first Saturday, March thru December, and enjoy Market Days - a flea market that draws shoppers from across the region.
