This cottage sits directly overlooking Penobscot Bay. It has access to the water's edge via a short set of stairs leading down to a small dock. The water is cold, but is ideal for rowing and canoeing and kayaking. There are little islands nearby to explore via canoe or kayak.We provide an old aluminum canoe, which is serviceable, and two sit-on-top kayaks. In the proper season, it's possible to paddle out into the bay and sit quietly until the harbor seals pop up around you. The cottage is a classic Maine "camp." There is one full bedroom and one full bathroom. There are two sleeping lofts, accessed via pulldown stairs. There's a full kitchen, a living/dining area, a fireplace, and a deck facing the bay. There are windows all around the cottage. Guests are free to use all parts of the cottage.. The road to the cottage -- Wardwell Point Road -- is a 2-lane twisty road which is largely paved, but which becomes packed dirt and gravel. Our neighbors are year-round residents born in Maine or year-round residents who transplanted to Maine years ago. It's a very quiet, kind neighborhood. Lots and lots of space between properties. Across from the cottage is a tiny house. It was the bunkhouse for the cottage, but has been completely renovated and winterized.
