KOTO-AN ～Rental house of Traditional Machiya～

This is a plan for private use of the entire building of a Kyoto-style inn. Conveniently located within walking distance of Kyoto station and right near Gojo subway station. Convenient access to major tourist destinations. The interior, including the emotional Japanese-style lighting, dressing table, and dresser, is still used as it was in the old days, so you can relax while feeling the atmosphere of the good old Kyoto. The bedroom has tatami mats and the kitchen has a nostalgic dirt floor that is still used as it was in the old days. ※ The front desk for check-in is in a separate building. Please be aware. Please come to the Romankan for check-in (Romankan 542 Wakamiya-cho, Wakamiya-dori, Rokujou-sagaru, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto-shi, 600-8314) ※ Kimono rental, tea ceremony experience, and private bath experience are available. Feel free to ask us about more details. * Reservations are required in advance. The space Machiya is a traditional wooden town-house typically seen in Kyoto. We renovated an old Machiya into a cozy townhouse accommodation. ★Due to the nature of wooden structures, sound may resonate more easily within the building. Please understand this characteristic of traditional houses before making your reservation. Additionally, you may be accommodated in a separate annex with the same room type. ※For infants and toddlers (no futon required) staying overnight: For one child, a fee of ¥1,000 applies. For every two additional children, the price of one adult will be charged. While preserving the traditional atmosphere of the machiya, we have renovated the kitchen, bathroom, and toilet in a modern style. Additionally, each room is equipped with teacups, an electric kettle, and a hairdryer. ※Please make a reservation with the exact number of people, as we charge per person and only provide bedding for the number of guests. ※Towel, hair dryer are in the room. ※YUKATA (casual cotton KIMONO as pajamas) is available for rent at the front desk. ※Airport pick up/Drop off available (*extra cost) Kansai International Airport (KIX)⇔HERE Please ask us the details. Guest access The room you will be staying in is exclusively for you. The toilet, bathroom, entrance, stairs, hallway and kitchen are exclusively for guests. There is a fridge and microwave. Other things to note 【Check-in】 Please check in at the reception desk of the Roman-kan. When you arrive, please come to the Roman-kan. Roman-kan Address: 542 Wakamiya-cho, Wakamiya-dori Rokujo-sagaru, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City 600-8314 If you cannot find it on a map, please search for “Restaurant no Wa”. ※If you arrive after 8:00 PM, check-in will generally be self-service. Please be sure to contact us in advance. Without prior notice, check-in may not be possible. Free luggage storage is available at the front desk from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on the day of check-in only. ※ The layout of the room may slightly differ from the photos. ● About the Accommodation Tax ● An accommodation tax ordinance was implemented in Kyoto City on October 1, 2018. Accommodation tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid on site. Please pay 200 yen per person per night in cash (400 yen from March 1, 2026 onward).
