The house has been renovated with new bathrooms, new rugs, wooden floors, new beds, bedspreads, mattresses etc. There are rooms for sleeping(1 bedroom on main floor with king bed and private bathroom) and (1 bedroom with queen bed and futon on upper level with private bathroom) and 1 room downstairs with bunk beds and queen bed. Toy room for kids. Separate room with table,chair and lamp that can be used as an office. There is a large deck overlooking a breath taking wide water view. There is also a futon in the family room downstairs. The family room downstairs has a play area for children, a foosball game and lots of board games to keep the younger ones happy. You can look at sunrises from the kitchen and the living room and they open onto main deck. The house has excellent unlimited wifi. There is a flat screen TV. There is an open style living room with an adjacent dining area perfect for relaxing and the kitchen is fully stocked with spices, oil, sugar, dishes, pots, pans, glasses, etc. There is also an outside gas grill w/ propane available. Kitchen has a coffee bar with a Kuerig coffee machine as well as a drip coffee machine and other small appliances such as rice cooker, waffle maker and more. There is a dishwasher with dishwasher soap. There is a washing machine and dryer and detergent. The lower level of the house offers an open area with lots of space to relax and an incredible view of the lake. There is also a screened in porch on the lower level big enough for Corn hole to be played inside or outside. For entertainment there are lots of indoor and outdoor games and foosball in the game room. Toddler bed, crib, high chair, pack n play and a bed rail(in corner closet in downstairs bedroom) and play area for younger kids with lots of toys for all ages. Also extra cot for any room. There is a large deck with table and plenty of chairs for eating outdoors and rocking chairs. Deck can also be closed off with the baby gate provided to enclose small children or pets. (Pets welcome). Big yard with a fire pit and wood. The dock has outside lights for enjoying the lake after dark.There are 6 kayaks and a canoe and life vests for guests, (9 life vests from small to big for young and old). Spring/Summer fishing and swimming is excellent. Water is 30-40 feet deep right off of dock for swimming and fun. House is on a wide area of the lake but also has a small cove perfect for swimming. Water is clear and clean since it is on a wide deep area of lake. Location is perfect to watch family boating, tubing or skiing right in front of dock. From the moment you walk in and experience the cozy lake decor to the privacy of the setting you will love "Fred's place". Lake house is secluded and peaceful and yet only 30-45 minutes from Roanoke and Lynchburg. Great neighborhood for walking, jogging or biking. House is also conveniently located just minutes from restaurants, grocery stores, marinas, shopping, putt-putt and golf and is only a short drive to Hales Ford Bridge. If you are planning on renting a boat or doing fishing (in a boat or on dock) or boating of any kind then this is a great location on the lake. If you want to swim around the dock then the water is great (deep and clean) for swimming. If you want to fish from the dock then the location is great for fishing with the shad coming there to feed. Homestead Creamery is only 20 minutes drive and the ice cream is delicious. Quaint and old fashioned ice cream shoppe for fresh local farm milk, ice cream, sandwiches & local gourmet items. Smith Mountain Lake Park is close by for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. Eagles and osprey can often be seen. House is cleaned, sanitized and disinfected after each stay. Please limit number of guests to four adults or older children. For those who reserve from either Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday night or Friday night through Saturday night (of the same week) then we block out Sunday for you once your reservation is confirmed. The neighborhood is on a point and there is not much traffic since it is a dead end no other roads go into the neighborhood. Great for walking. Houses have large lots so each house is secluded. Private neighborhood but close to conveniences. Smith Mountain Lake is beautiful this time of year. Kayaking is great fun. Canoe is also available with life vests. Swimming is available all year. Fishing is great because the stripers and bass are coming to this area because of the shad feeding and this is a deep water area. Anyone can fish off of the dock while those who aren't into fishing can relax on the dock and enjoy the peaceful setting. Linens, plenty of towels and soap are provided for your stay at no expense to you. We also provide, detergent for washing clothes and dishes. We have plenty of sanitizing materials and cleaners under the cabinets for any who like to spray after use. We clean and disinfect after each stay. Pets welcome and yard is big enough for dogs to play.
