Your own quiet air conditioning unit lets you control the temperature in your room, but unfortunately blocks part of the view (we are working on getting a wall unit instead of a window unit). Set of dishes, cutlery and glassware for two - and we do your dishes. Fridge, freezer, microwave with convection oven. Pool - access at your own risk, no life guard. Pool is old and run own but always clean. Not heated. Closed from mid October until June. Patio with barbecue and seating. In season we often share our home grown vegetables and herbs with our guests. Quiet private setting, near many attractions, and a quick ride to Wilmington, DE or Philadelphia, PA. The 2 acre yard borders on a nature preserve where you can take long walks and enjoy local wildlife. In the bathroom you will find a wonderful line of locally made natural toiletries including soap, shampoo and conditioner. The large full bathroom with separate vanity area is shared with no more than 2 other AirBnB guests, but not with the owners. You can count on your room and bathroom being immaculately clean and tidy, but the rest of the house (to which you do not have access) is often a bit messy. There is an outdoor patio with a propane barbecue. The common areas such as kitchen and living room are NOT available to you. We are always happy to assist our guests with ideas and information, as well as direction. We are social and enjoy good company, but tend to leave our guests alone unless they seek us out. Since we both work from home, it is usually very easy to catch us for a chat. Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, and many other mansions and museums are near by. Kennett Square has some lovely restaurants, a brewery and a beer garden. There are many wineries in the area that offer nice events and tastings. Considering our country side location, we have a remarkable selection of high end, as well as family style, restaurants within 10-20 minutes drive. Don't miss out on the amazing Woodside Creamery, where the award winning ice-cream is made with milk from the cows on the farm. You are near all the large corporations in Wilmington, and we get many corporate guests. The train ride, or drive, to Philadelphia is less than an hour. The city has a lot to offer, and is far nicer than you would expect. You will need a car, bicycle or motorcycle. There is no public transportation here. But plenty of parking. We also offer garage parking for motorcycles if you let us know in advance. The bed in this room is very comfortable, but it is also very low. This upstairs room is not ideal for anyone with knee or hip problems. The room is small, there is not a lot of space to socialize in the room. But is is a peaceful and beautiful room for you to sleep in. It has a very small table that can be used as a desk.
