Description
Tolgoit is the oldest ger district in Mongolia. It is a sprawling area of the city which holds a lot of history. My place is close to restaurants and dining and a bus which will take you to the center of the city. I can help you plan your tour in Mongolia and can also work as a guide. You’ll love my place because you will automatically be immersed in Mongolian culture and still have the space to withdraw and relax on your own. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids) The space As an anthropologist I know a lot about Mongolian culture and history and I will gladly help you organize your trip in Mongolia. I can also work as a guide if you need one or recommend a solid traveling company that will not just take you to a touristy ger-camp outside Ulaanbaatar. Your studio room is located above my parents house. They will love to welcome you and prepare food and invite you into their home for a Mongolian cooking lesson if you are interested in getting to know more about Mongolian culture and customs. This studio is an unique opportunity to get to understand Mongolian customs and way of life outside the normal tourist-track and can also offer a quiet place to relax between your exploration of Mongolia. Guest access We Mongolians like to share and live with many people together under one roof. As a guest you will have your own private studio, but will also have the opportunity to visit my family and engage with Mongolian everyday life. The toilet is located outside of the main house, while the shower room and kitchen are downstairs in the family area. During your stay As your host I will gladly help with anything you might want to know about Mongolia and help you with any city/countryside tours you might like to take. In the summer I work as a tourist-guide and can therefore help you with any questions related to travelling in Mongolia. Other things to note Please remember that as the Ulaanbaatar ger district is a historic area and may be quite different to the urban living you are used to. Staying here you will see a side of Ulaanbaatar and Mongolia that few others get to experience. Please be ready for a different way of life, including a squat toilet (very clean!) and a manual shower.
