Animals come and go depending on the season, fencing, and farm projects. Some stays may include horses or cattle in the pasture, while other times the property may only have the resident dogs, cats, and local wildlife. Rural life changes with the seasons, and that’s part of the charm of staying here. 2013-2015 : installed wood floors on main/2nd floor rooms, outdoor patio/firepit Fenced off property for pasture 🐮🐎 2017 New AC/Furnace 2018 Installed freestanding solar panels on South side of house Bought an old truck with a plow for plowing 2019: New woodstove in main floor living room 2020: finished off basement for 2 additional bedrooms, full bath, kitchen area, living room with fireplace! Still planning on building an edition off dining room/living room. 2021: Updating upstairs bedrooms and bathroom and areas of the main level I have two cat(inside) and two dogs (outside). This room has a queen size and set of bunk beds on the second level of the house. Queen size bed has heated mattress pad! Remote controlled wall mounted fireplace can be used for heat or just show flames without giving off heat on those cold winter nights or if you are "freeze baby" and want it a bit warmer in your room. There is also large closet in it in the room. You would also share a full bathroom upstairs with whomever is in the other Airbnb room House has central air, wood burning fireplace, washer/dryer, large porch in the front and a deck in the back of the house. On the main level is the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and my bedroom. Basement has a living room with gas fireplace, full bathroom, kitchen, 2 Airbnb bedrooms, and utility/laundry room My two dogs Daisy (14yr old Mountain Cur) and Kodiak (15year old lab/pix mix) were hunting dogs in their previous owners. They are the friendliest dogs you will ever meet although they might appear somewhat intimidating when you see them running towards you to welcome as you drive in. I live in the woods and the dogs like to hunt so you may see the occasional dead animal the dogs catch laying around outside. Many times they will bring there catches near the house to show off there hunting treasures. The dogs are outside most of the time, but they can come in the house if they are supervised (if left alone the dogs will chew things up and eat things in the kitchen). They are great lap dogs if you want them on the couch with you watching TV. Max and Smokey strictly indoor indoor cats. Even if you aren't a cat person you will love my cats. If you shut the door to your bedroom make sure you don't lock the cats in your room. The only litter boxes are in the basement and in my bedroom closet I also have two horses Lucky and Luna that hang out in my pasture. I also rent out my pasture to a farmer so you will also see some cows around Also if more people need to be accommodated I also have a few couches for people to sleep on and an inflatable mattress Guest access Entire house really. Roku smart TVs in every bedroom, internet, keypad entry to house. I have keypad door locks to the house, so I will program a 4 digit code to get in the house During your stay As little or as much as you want. I'm a people person. Other things to note Welcome to the Hobby Farm – A Few Things to Know Staying on a farm is a little different than staying at a hotel downtown. Most guests love it — but we like to give everyone a quick heads-up about the realities of country life so there are no surprises. 1. The Dogs Work Here Our dogs take their security jobs very seriously. They may greet you, follow you around the property, or supervise your activities. They are friendly and part of the farm family. Occasionally they may proudly deliver “findings” from their wildlife patrol. Yes, sometimes this includes things like sticks, bones… or the occasional deer-related situation. This is normal farm behavior. 2. Wildlife Exists You may see deer, turkeys, coyotes, raccoons, rabbits, and other critters around the property. This is one of the perks of staying out in the country — but remember, this is their neighborhood too. 3. Country Sounds Are Real At night you may hear: - coyotes singing - frogs - owls - wind through the trees - farm animals doing their thing Think of it as nature’s white noise. 4. Farm Fashion Is Casual You may see the host wandering around in boots, braids, or possibly extremely questionable Walmart pants. Farm couture is not regulated here. 5. Mud Happens Depending on weather and season, the property may include mud, snow, dust, leaves, sticks, and general outdoor chaos. If you came for a perfectly manicured lawn… you may be slightly disappointed. If you came for fresh air and nature, you’ll be very happy. 6. Relax — That’s the Whole Point Most people come here to unplug, breathe, and experience a little slice of country life. Slow down, enjoy the quiet, and don’t worry if things feel a little less polished than a city hotel. That’s part of the charm. Welcome to the farm.
