The Sweet Retreat is perfectly located in the heart of the Sierra Mountains. This modern mountain house resides in the small town of Sugar Pine, CA ( Between Twain Harte & Mi Wuk Village ). 8 miles from Black Oak Casino and 16 miles from Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Escape from the daily grind and retreat to this peaceful place. The space Modern mountain house with wrap-around deck and outdoor fire pit area for entertaining. At night enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the trees lit up by outdoor lighting. Entering the home, you will be greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows to showcase the natural beauty that surrounds you. Hardwood floor, tile, and carpet in living room & bedroom. Updated kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, and gas oven. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you will need to prepare meals. Keurig with a supply of coffee pods. Three flat-screen TVs with access to Roku and Netflix. Large movie library. 1 bedroom, loft that acts as a bedroom, and one bathroom with a Shower downstairs. The shower has an oversized rainfall showerhead. A spiral staircase will lead you up to the loft/ 2nd bedroom area. Central AC/heating throughout the bottom level of the house and wood-burning stove. There are 5 beds total. The main level bedroom has a bunk bed that features a full bed and 2 twin beds. The loft offers a Queen bed and a futon that becomes a full bed. All beds have memory foam mattresses to ensure a restful night's sleep. The futon has a featherbed for extra comfort. All beds have fresh clean sheets, memory foam pillows, and down comforters. The cabin has approximately 1000 Square feet of living space. In the summer months, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, guests can enjoy the Sugar Pine private lake. This charming lake has a small sandy white beach and two floating docks to play on. The lake is a 10 minute walk from the cabin or a few minute drive down the road from the cabin retreat. An amazing way to spend your days under the trees! We are apart of a private lake association that is shared with other members to utilize the lake. Cabin Pet Policy: We kindly ask our guests to please review and accept our pet policy to ensure we are a good fit: PET POLICY: Pet(s) require approval, nightly fee of $20.00 per pet and ONLY 2 dogs MAX. Dog breeds under 30 pounds Sorry, NO cats 1.) Dogs can not be left unattended at the cabin. 2.) Please no pets on furniture. 3.) Dogs must be leashed at all times outside Cabin. 4.) Please be respectful and pick up all poopoo. 5.) If we receive barking complaints from neighbors, we will kindly inform you so that you can be mindful of noise. 6.) Guest access Complete access to the cabin and outdoor entertaining areas. Owners closet located upstairs is locked for safekeeping, hall closet near living room locked for housekeeping. Other things to note We do not provide the following items: firewood Laundry detergent Propane for the BBQ Ice melt ( Winter ) Beach towels AC/ HEATER We have central AC on the lower level of the cabin. Keep in mind that on very hot days, It is warmer in the loft as heat rises. Please turn off the thermostat when you are not at the cabin Please ensure doors and windows are closed when the air conditioner or heat is on. Excessive use could result in a service charge. Week of Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday there is a 3-night minimum. New Years', Memorial Day, and Labor Day there is a 3-night minimum stay on the weekend. Holiday pricing per night starts at 249.00. PLEASE NOTE: We do not accommodate check-outs on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve, Christmas day and New Years day . If this information is overlooked before booking, we will ask you to please cancel on your end as this is notated in our listing. Lake access to guests will be from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. To utilize the private lake, we require a signed document agreeing to the rules of the lake by the Association. We can either email or mail it to you whichever is most convenient. The signed document needs to be returned to us before your reservation. If we receive a complaint or are notified of inappropriate misuse of the lake, your security deposit will be forfeited. Our property has a flight of stairs that lead to the main level of the cabin. Additionally, there is a spiral staircase that leads up to the loft / second bedroom. Our cabin does not have ramps or wheelchair access. We do provide a gas barbecue located on the back deck. Keep in mind that we do not maintain the propane. We recommend you bring up an extra propane tank for backup just in case it runs out. Or you can have the existing tank filled at a local market a few blocks away from the cabin. We do have a landline available at the cabin to utilize for local calls. We have provided two shovels for the property, one by the front door and one by the back door. You will be required to shovel the entrance during a snowstorm. Parking We have a flat gravel driveway that you could park three average-sized vehicles in the summer and I large SUV or two small vehicles in the winter. In the winter months if it is snowing you will be required to park on the driveway and not the road. This is to ensure that the snowplow vehicles can plow. This might require shoveling snow on the driveway to access a parking spot. We want to make sure you don't receive a hefty ticket from the city. In the winter months we recommend bringing up dry firewood and fire starter sticks to help start a fire in the woodstove. If you are not familiar with making a fire we recommend that you bring up extra kindling. That could be fire starter sticks, old magazines, or newspapers. We do have a woodpile that you could utilize at your discretion, however, keep in mind that it is wet from the snow.
