The Clizzie Hogan
A traditional Navajo hogan made from local sandstone located near Lees Ferry on the Navajo Reservaton. It is one large open room with wood stove and two twin beds and two cots. We keep 12 gallons of fresh culinary/drinking water on hand and a chuck-box camp kitchen . There is no indoor plumbing or shower. We ask our guests to use our clean and well maintained outhouse a short walk away. The space The interior of the hogan has a flagstone floor, well lit from two skylights. There are two beds and two cots. We are also located in the middle of the best the Southwest has to offer: the Grand Canyon, Lees Ferry, and Lake Powel. Hiking and outdoor recreation opportunities are endless from this Navajo base camp. Navajo Bridge and Marble Canyon Lodge are only 3 miles away. There is a restaurant and convenience store there as well as a post office and laundry. Guest access Guests have use the hogan and a huge yard that surrounds it, which includes a outdoor furniture and a fire pit with plenty of firewood for relaxing under the stars. Other things to note Our hogan is powered from an extension cord that comes from the main house. It powers lights and air conditioning for the hogan and also an outlet for charging devices.
