Relax in your own apartment w/2 TVs, Wifi & private entry; w/elevator to bring you and your stuff up; w/view from the balcony; your own washer/drier in the unit; raw nature outside & hiking trails all around: take advantage of the beautiful 1.4 miles long trail just down the street; plenty of parking nearby; no winding roads & easy access to the freeway: 5 miles to BART, 6 to Berkeley & 15 to San Francisco. Equally great for short trips as well as extended stays! The space Welcome to our private and modern in-law apartment surrounded by nature and wildlife, where you feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area, while minutes from everywhere! The apartment consists of a large main room with a kitchen (microwave, full-size fridge, dishwasher, granite counter-top, hot plate for cooking, coffee maker, toaster oven, etc. …), a breakfast table, a sofa that folds into a bed, a 55” flat-screen TV with RUKU Streaming, a large closet and a most eclectic mini-library. We provide coffee, tea, and a welcome bottle of wine. The apartment also includes a full bathroom with a bathtub, a shower featuring sliding glass doors and washer/drier. The comfortable separate bedroom sleeping area is a flight of stairs up. The bedroom has a queen bed with a gel memory foam mattress. Sheets and towels are provided and will go directly to the wash after you depart - don't bother to wash them or make the bed. The bed is under the windows so that you can stare at the stars before falling asleep, during the daytime you can just look at the sky. The bedroom also has a 32” TV with cable and sleeping mode. The apartment has a small balcony where you can sit and enjoy the sunset, sip wine or drink morning coffee. There is a network printer/copier on the dresser in the bedroom. The apartment is naturally cool in summer and has radiant heated floors for cool days in the winter. The apartment is very private and quiet. When you look at the pictures: the apartment is the lower part of the house. The middle area between our living quarters and the apartment is the utility area (nobody lives there). The apartment has no common walls or ceilings with the other rooms of the house. The apartment is also romantic: there are skylights right above the bed (at night, you can see stars in the sky), and the balcony of the apartment is perfect to drink coffee or wine or just sit, relax and enjoy the wildlife. We constantly have deer, wild turkeys, and squirrels around the house. This is a great location to explore the whole bay area: San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Napa wine country, etc; or a place to just stay, relax, and unwind while taking advantage of the beautiful 1.4-mile-long hiking/biking/jogging trail just down the street. Guest access You have access to the entire apartment-- everything in the apartment is for your enjoyment and use. You can use the elevator to bring yourself and your stuff in. You can park anywhere on the street around the house (except in front of the mailbox). Other things to note - If you plan to use the sofa for sleeping, please let us know, and we will provide bedding for the sofa upon request. - If it gets too hot, there are fans available in the closet. On these occational hot summer days when the temperature reaches 80°F and above, we can additionally provide a portable air conditioner. - Before checking out, please do not wash the towels or sheets, just leave them where they are; we will wash them for the next guest(s).
