Ancient residence "IL PERGOLETTO"
Description
Ancient house donated by paternal grandparents recently renovated with meticulous attention while preserving the original and authentic aspect where possible. Furnishings made by local craftsmen also with recycled materials. It dates back to the end of the 19th century and is part of a much larger structure as can be seen from some rooms on the ground floor used as animal shelter and agricultural warehouse. This, together with the grandfather's stories, makes us think that it is what remains of an old farm. The uniqueness of the house is certainly represented by the centenary pergola that my great grandfather buried on the occasion of the departure of one of his sons in the war and followed his growth with immense love as only the farmers of the past knew how to do. The great-grandfather's attachment to this vine was passed on to my grandfather who in turn passed it on to me. I still remember the grandfather that every day during the summer season controlled the growth of the grapes, he removed a leaf now from a branch and now from another branch (he said) "to let the light in". The accommodation chosen by the great-grandfather to bury the pergola, which is in front of the house, makes it all the more precious as going up to the first floor goes to frame and shade the small balcony.
