Description
Broom with a View is a quirky one-bedroom ground floor apartment within Lower Tytherleigh Farmhouse. It has magnificent far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside. Broom has its own entrance, living/dining room with mini kitchen, as well as a lovely outdoor terrace and garden. Award-winning pub/restaurant and farm shop (2 mins by car), SW Rail Axminster (10 mins by car), trains to Exeter (40 mins)/London Waterloo (2hrs 50mins), A303 (25 mins by car), Exeter (50 mins by car). The space Broom with a View is a self-contained attached annex within Lower Tytherleigh Farm on the borders of East Devon and West Dorset. As the name suggests there are incredible far-reaching views across the countryside. Broom with a View has it's own private entrance and features a relaxing bedroom with king size bed, a separate living/dining space with a mini kitchen with hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher (please note, there is no oven), and plenty of original features. Guests also have their own spacious bathroom with bath and walk in shower as well as guest amenities (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap) from Botaniks. Broom with a View has all the modern technology and appliances you’ll need including dedicated wifi and Smart TV with integrated DVD player and lots of DVDs. For more old-fashioned pursuits, there are a selection of books you're welcome to borrow while you're staying here, as well as backgammon and board games. The kitchen is fully equipped with (hopefully) everything you might need including pots and pans, plates, glasses, mugs, cutlery, kitchen utensils and a corkscrew of course! You'll be welcomed with a starter package of fair trade teas and coffees, milk, eggs, cereal, bread, butter and jam. You can choose either a bottle of prosecco, red or white wine, ale, lager or cider depending on your preference. We'll even make sure you've got ice cubes in the freezer! If dark skies and star-spotting are your thing, you'll really enjoy staying here as at night, there is barely another light to be seen. We'll make sure the bird feeders are full so keep your eyes open for the huge variety of birds that fly around here including greater spotted woodpeckers, collared doves, nuthatches, chaffinches, our shy green woodpecker and resident buzzards as well as the annual visits from swallows and swifts. You have access to your own terrace area sheltered by a veranda and equipped with a comfortable seating/dining area and outside lighting. You are welcome to walk around the garden where there is seating for you to enjoy the views, as well as the adjoining paddock and field (as long as there is no livestock in the field at the time). There are some public footpaths and bridleways a short stroll away and more within a short drive by car, and the Jurassic Coast is only 8 miles away as the crow flies (which it does, often). Guest access There is plenty of parking space in the drive outside Broom with a View. As well as the top half of the garden, there is a small paddock with rocking chairs so you can enjoy the outside and the views. There is a field next door which you are welcome to wander around as long as there is no livestock in there. Other things to note I live in the main part of the house so you may see me coming and going a few times to and from my car. There is a second one bedroom holiday let, The Horse House, across the driveway from Broom. This is detached from the main house, has it's own parking space, and you won't see or hear guests staying there except for when they're going in or out. Guests in the Horse House do not have access to your part of the garden and their own outside space is well away from you and yours.
