Goosewing Cottage Hunter Valley

Our Cottage is fully self-contained, architect-designed and immaculately presented. Please note, to minimise cost for only 2 guests, we close off the 2nd room with ensuite, when not in use so you don't pay for what you don't need. A $120 surcharge is in place for 1 couple or 2 singles travelling together and needing the 2nd bedroom, so kindly inform us if this is the case. The space Eco-passive and architecturally-designed, the Cottage can accommodate up to 4 adults and is ideal for couples, small groups and small families. The 2 bedroom suites are located at opposite wings of the cottage for maximum privacy, each with its own beautifully appointed hotel quality king-sized bed and luxurious ensuite bathroom. The Cottage is a smart design, with natural light and ventilation. All rainwater is harvested and passive solar exposure ensures absolute comfort throughout the year. The generous living area connects to a sun-filled north facing outdoor terrace, where you can enjoy a wine and a barbecue under a starlit sky or listen to the bellbirds amidst the heady perfume of the blossoming wisteria. With stunning views of the surrounding picturesque countryside and the Brokenback Ranges from all rooms, the Cottage is private, stylish, secluded and contemporary with polished concrete floors, a slow-combustion fireplace, open-plan living area and integrated kitchenette. Some key features of the Cottage include: •2 king sized bedroom suites, each with its own luxury ensuite •kitchenette with dishwasher, cooktop and microwave/convection oven •a cosy slow combustion fire place with all wood provided during our firewood season (from the Easter long weekend through to the October long weekend inclusive) •reverse cycle air-conditioning •automatic coffee pod machine with coffee pods supplied •a selection of gourmet tea and basic pantry condiments •outdoor terrace with additional table setting and barbecue •polished concrete floors in bedrooms and living areas •satellite TV and an iPod dock •telephone with unlimited free calls to mobiles and/or other landlines •DVD player and an extensive DVD library for your enjoyment •compost bin to recycle vegetable waste for our chooks and worm farm •all linen and complimentary toiletries supplied •iron, ironing board and hairdryer provided •portacot and bedding hire ($15/night) available for infants under 2 years old •door to door coach transfers for all Day on the Green events All of our tariffs include a generous, complimentary fresh breakfast hamper with refreshments, bacon, eggs from our own free range chooks, milk, juice, gourmet muesli, home baked bread and other goodies, as well as a fine selection of gourmet tea. Guest access Guests are more than welcome to tour the property and enjoy the grounds during their stay. Whether it be a drink on the stunning gazebo overlooking the dam, a private picnic or a bushwalk (access to the Great North Walk, which stretches from Sydney to Newcastle, is directly across the road). The Cottage shares its space with our larger Homestead, located at the opposite end of the property (please see our other listing for Goosewing Homestead) and both dwellings are designed for maximum guest privacy. Other things to note The Cottage does NOT have Wi-Fi and mobile reception is limited (please also see our other listing as our larger Homestead does have free Wi-Fi for guests). Most of our guests enjoy disconnecting from their devices during their stay, however if you require internet or mobile phone access, our Cottage is not best suited to your needs. For outgoing calls, the Cottage has a landline telephone installed for our guests' convenience, with unlimited free calls to other landlines and mobile phones within Australia. We are off the beaten track and located in the peaceful, picturesque rural township of Mount View. We are surrounded by neighbouring farms, lush, rolling pastures and an abundance of native wildlife. It is a 15-20 minute drive into Pokolbin, so if you are looking to stay right in town, Goosewing is probably NOT the best choice for you, so please take this into consideration before booking with us. Taxis can readily be organised and we are also more than happy to organise wine tours or private transfers on your behalf. Our Cottage tariffs are based on a per couple or person/per bedroom rate in order to keep our prices competitive. Should 2 adults (not a couple) require both bedrooms, an additional $120 surcharge applies (let us know if this is the case). The second bedroom will be locked off when not required. A base rate applies to only 2 people. An extra tariff applies for more than 2. We have a 2 night min. in place for all guests. The pre-mentioned surcharge does not apply when you book for 3 or the max. of 4 guests. We are in the country and as a result, there are some unsealed dirt roads en route to us, like a number of main wine country roads. Don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like us to provide suitable directions for your visit. Door-to-door coach transfers are available for exclusive Hunter Valley events, including all Day On The Green, Jazz in the Vines and Opera in the Vineyards concerts.
