We often serve meals near the lake where clients can be enchanted by the serenity of nature while enjoying scrumptious meals. The camp property has a span of 4 acre land and it is accessible with a naturalist present. Other than the kitchen and the dedicated tent areas at the camp site the guests have access to the property grounds as per the rules and regulations mentioned at the camping brief by the manager. The campsite is located closer to the Southern boundary of Wilpattu National Park, on the boundary of a lake, and is surrounded by bush forest. We often serve meals near the lake where clients can be enchanted by the serenity of nature while enjoying scrumptious meals. The entrance of the park is only 7km from the campsite, and is a matter of a 5-10 minute drive in a safari jeep. A short safari of 4hours can be done for an additional fee. The Wilpattu National park is known for its populations of Sri Lankan Leopards, Sri Lankan Elephants, Sri Lankan Sloth Bears, and a host of other wildlife, all nourished by a rich ecosystem that includes a wide array of exotic flora and fauna. If you are visiting in May/June, you might even see Sri Lankan Sloth Bears eating the fruit off the top branches of the giant Palu trees which are in abundance in the National Park. As the camp is located in a very wilderness setting, guests are kindly requested to call the Camp Manager on +(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) to arrange the pickup. Pick up time is between 12 noon to 12.30 Noon. Public transportation facility is about 3km away from the camp and it is a 10 minute drive. We can arrange transportation to your next destination provided we have a minimum of 2 days advance notice from date of arrival for a confirmation. Though the tents are set up far away from local villages, bear in mind that this area is very quiet, so the distant sound of a radio or temple chant may sometimes carry to the campsite. These occurrences are rare but we would like to keep our customers informed in case such situations arise. ** Important If the calendar shows full, write us to check availability.
