Description
The room overlooks the garden at the back of the house and is very quiet, although we are on the main road, just 20 minutes walk away from the historic Docks and the City Centre with its wonderful Cathedral. Tall Ships Festival May, Three Choirs Festival July, Rhythm and Blues Festival July, Food Festival July, History Festival in September, etc. Lots of things to do and see in Gloucester and easy access to the Cotswolds. Own bathroom, use of kitchen and garden room as shown in photos. The space This has been our family home for over 40 years but now our children have moved away it is just Mike and myself. The guest bedroom contains items brought back from our holiday in Egypt and has a Kingsize bed, a vanity unit and a view over the garden on the quiet side of the house. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom. You have your own bathroom, next to the bedroom, with a shower and underfloor heating. We used to offer "theatrical digs" for artists performing in the local theatre before it closed some years ago. Guest access Visitors can use the kitchen for breakfast with access to the sunny garden room and garden, weather permitting. We provide everything for breakfast, but it is DIY , which is what we offered our theatrical guests when they stayed with us. This means you can get up when you like! Coffee machine of course! During your stay If you give us enough notice we may be able to offer transport from the local railway or coach station. Sue is a member of Gloucester Civic Trust and can arrange historic guided walks around Gloucester City for a very reasonable extra cost. Sue and Mike have a wide knowledge of the local area and will be happy to suggest places of interest. There is a TV in the bedroom if you prefer your own company. Other things to note We prefer a minimum stay of 2 nights and please treat our home as you would your own.
