Description

Our inviting home sits in between the city limits of both Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs! We are just a block from the trails at Red Rock Canyon Open Space, which is a 1,747 acre city park. We are within 5-10 minutes of Downtown Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City, Cave of the Winds, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, and Garden of the Gods. Home has 3 bedrooms, 2 living areas, 2 bathrooms, 3 queen beds (one is a sleeper sofa), 1 king, 2 twins, 1 futon, and a sofa downstairs. The space When you enter the home at ground level, you will find the main living room, two bedrooms (one king bed and one queen bed), main bathroom (with tub), dining room, kitchen, and patio/deck above the back yard. The living room sofa pulls out into an additional sleeper sofa that can sleep two. There is a dining table inside as well as another one outside on the deck. Take the stairs down to the basement, and you will arrive in the second living room that houses a trundle bed (two twin beds) and a futon. Pass through the living room into the downstair bedroom to find the third bedroom with queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower (no tub). This bedroom also contains a sitting area with a futon and a desk for workspace use. In the summer, you can see a small section of Garden of the Gods from the back deck. In the winter, you can see quite a bit more of it. You have the mountains all around within view as well. Our kitchen is stocked with various spices, salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar, and vegetable oil. We provide one single serve coffee packet per night (each packet is enough to brew a 10-12 cup pot) as well as some creamer and sugar cubes to get you started the first morning. We know nobody wants to be going grocery shopping right after they arrive without their morning coffee! 😂 Our showers have dispensers supplied with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. We typically use Sensitive Skin Body Wash and Tres Semme shampoo and conditioner. I try to be very thorough in my pictures and descriptions, but here are some small and random things to note after years of feedback from guests: -You have to pass through the downstair bedroom to access the bathroom. So, anyone sleeping in the downstairs living room will need to use the upstairs bathroom or go into the downstairs bedroom to use the bathroom. -Our laundry room is in the basement in a separate room we use to store supplies for the house. It can be accessed through the downstairs living room. We have a large capacity washer and dryer, and guests are absolutely welcome to use them. Just be aware it's not a fancy or finished out room as it's purely for storage. -If you're staying with us when it's below 60 degrees outside, our AC cannot be turned on. This is not because w like being jerks (lol), but to prevent damage to our AC condenser as that can occur with AC use during colder weather. If it's warm inside the house, opening the patio door and one or two windows will cool it down really fast! -We are located literally at the foothills of the mountains, so you are likely to see various wildlife. We see deer in the yard almost daily when we visit. It's fun to watch them, but please tell children not to approach the deer. I have seen them get spooked, stomp, and snort at my children when they didn't listen to me because they wanted to "pet the deer". Bear sometimes try to dig in the trash at night if the lids are not latched all the way (we have bear proof cans). So, please make sure to secure the latch. Welcome to the foothills: you're at nature's doorstep. 😂 Guest access Guests have access to the entire home. Guests are welcome to use our high capacity washer and dryer as well, and high is located in our storage area in the basement. Other things to note Home has High Speed Wifi. TVs have common apps installed like Netflix, Hulu, etc. You can login to any of those with your accounts. We have TVs in all bedrooms and both living rooms. Our gaming console is a “retro games” usb device with 20,000+ old school games. It’s hooked up to the HDMI port of the TV in the basement living room, and has two wireless controllers. Info on our child/baby specific items: -Our “crib” is a pack n’ play style portable baby pen. We have sheets for it. We have a thin and firm mattress for it you can use as well. For liability reasons…some guidance says using additional mattresses in portable play pens/cribs is unsafe due to SIDS, so use the mattress at your own judgement and risk. -Our baby gate is not for use at the top of the stairs. It will not securely attach to the stair railing. We are working on having a permanent one built for the stairs, but as of this writing the stairs cannot be baby proofed. -We have a basic audio baby monitor for guest use. -If you need to use our high chair, portable play pin/crib, baby gate, or baby monitor, please let us know in advance so we can leave the items out for you.
