The space Il-Loġġa Boutique hotel has very humble beginnings dating back almost 400 years when it was erected to serve as a private residence. The name “Loġġa" is a literal translation from the Maltese language which means “The Arch". This arch is a building technique which was adopted by the Maltese since the time of the Roman occupation. This arch which was a main original feature of this house. During the first world war, Il-Loġġa used to serve as a wine bar where many a man would walk down from rural Xaghra, gather round a table, and play some cards or traditional “Bocci" whilst of course, sipping on some delicious home-made wine. These kinds of stories are today considered a part of our folklorist heritage. After the building came into the hands of the Bigeni family´s young siblings – Joseph and Christof, it has been passionately converted into a Boutique Hotel and Restaurant. Il-Loġġa Boutique Hotel offers holiday accommodation for those who wish to escape the commotion of everyday life and just unwind without a care in the world. Guest access Guests have access to all areas of the hotel including free use of the rooftop swimming pool enjoying beautiful country and sea views. All rooms have their own balconies or terraces and are fully air-conditioned. On the ground floor you will find Il-Loġġa Restaurant which offers a wide variety of Maltese and Mediterranean dishes. In case you are planning to arrive at the hotel past 19:00hrs, kindly let us know at least 72 hours prior to your arrival day so that we can provide you with more information. Please note that we do not operate a 24/7 reception desk. Standard check-out time is by 11:00hrs. As from 20 June 2016 travellers (adults 18+) staying in Malta and Gozo are required to pay a €0.50 Environmental Contribution for each night of their stay. This is capped at €5.00 per adult and is not included in the prices displayed on this website.
