Description

Very quiet and private Idyllic Maine neighborhood originally built for New Yorkers in the 1920's who wanted to get away to Maine in the summer. Downeast Magazine voted in 2006 'Maine's Best Neighborhood' Near Town Landing beach and boat launch. NICE The space Location Location Location-so close to Portland allows for city entertainment while minutes later coming 'home' to a cozy cottage. The best of both worlds! A 5 minute walk to the famed Town Landing Market and public pier. Ideal for swimming, fishing, boating or just dreaming the day away. The cottage is charming with full porch for summer dining and entertainment. Upstairs bedroom has 'attic type' feel with lots and two lovely windows for cross sea breezes. Note: staircase to upstairs is steep and narrow as a caution to disabled, older guest or toddler children. Stained glass picture windows add to the charm of the cottage for maximum views of the ocean. Quaint kitchen with ample space for enjoying meals at home and charming scalloped woodwork to remind you true cottage living. Full basement with washer and dryer. Parking in driveway for 2 vehicles in single file. Large trailers or vehicles will not be able to make the turn into driveway. Guest access Beaches are close-small beach at end of road and the Town Landing Beach is 5 minute walk-pending tide. Beautiful beaches both to the north and south within 30 minute drive. Need to walk to beach-bring your own beach toys, fishing equipment or small boats-kayak, paddleboard etc. is permissible to store outside in back yard. Town Landing boat launch is 5 minutes away. Sailing club for children is available at Portland Yacht Club just 5 minutes walking distance. There is a small third type of bedroom/office/dressing room to keep clothes. Could be a great place for a crib. Yard is available for barbequeing in back and chairs for sitting on stone patio in front of cottage facing bay. Portand is a 10-15 minute drive to the best restaurants and museums. LL Bean is 15 minutes north in Freeport village that includes great discount shopping and restaurants. LL Bean puts on weekly concerts in the summer Other things to note Two narrow staircases; one to upstairs and caution toddlers and under or elderly for stairs might be too steep. Please view photo.
