The main level of the house (which is elevated to 23 ft. and allowed us to escape the worst of recent 2024 Hurricanes Milton and Helene), offers breathtaking bird’s eye view of the Gulf of Mexico, Pine Island Sound, the Salty Approach Airstrip. The lanai is the perfect place to enjoy the sunsets and sunrise, read a book, create island arts and crafts, take a nap or simply do nothing at all. Since the house is adjacent to the island’s private airstrip, watching small airplanes and helicopters land, take off and taxi down the runway is a thrill that you will not soon forget. The fully equipped kitchen is located on this level so you can enjoy the amazing views while preparing meals. The dining room table is made of distressed wood. Here you will enjoy countless hours dining or playing games with the family. The main level has a full bathroom complete with a shower and tub for ease of bathing little ones or enjoying a soak. Two bedrooms are also located on this floor: one room has a queen size bed and an entrance foyer that can be closed to allow this bedroom to become the second master suite. The other bedroom has a full futon and 2 twin beds. Both rooms are tastefully decorated and are the perfect place to rest after a day at the beach. On the second level of the house is the master bedroom retreat complete with two private balconies. The “Sunrise Balcony” offers views of the sun as it rises over Pine Island Sound to the east. From the comfort of the outdoor bed, you can also gaze at the Milky Way and all the wonders that the night sky has to offer. Shooting stars and a meteor shower or two are not an uncommon occurrence. From the “Sunset Balcony” you will enjoy the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico, views of Cayo Costa and so much more. The master suite has a romantic canopy bed and a private sitting area. The master bath has a large two person shower as well as an over-sized soaking tub – the perfect place to rejuvenate. Also located on the second level is a separate bonus sleeping room with a trundle bed that comfortably accommodates two. This bonus room is well appointed with a mall dresser and makes a for a cozy place for kids and kids at heart! STILL NEED MORE BEDS for those friends and family that just could not stay behind? We know what that is like! Our family is made up of 9 siblings so we understand the importance of spending time together making memories. Sol Mar offers sleeping accommodation for up to two additional people in beds on two convertible twin ottomans and room for two more on the convertible sofa (queen bed) in the living room. You can spend a morning on the ocean kayaks fishing or frolicking with dolphins and manatees. When the gulf is calm you can paddle and explore the wilder side of the island, the preserve. Sol Mar on North Captiva is the island home of your dreams. Sol Mar will live in your memories, calling you back to your home away from home. Ultimately, you will return. Guest access From the moment that you begin the planning process, our expert team will be on hand to help you get to the island, escort you and your luggage to our home, be on hand 7 days a week to address any issues that arise, and then help you and your guests back to the dock to return to the mainland. We have teams that can deliver ANYTHING you need from nearby Cape Coral to you 7 days a week: fresh groceries, seafood, beverages, and anything you can think of. Included in your rental fee is access to North Captiva Island Club with its two large heated pools, tennis courts, outdoor bar and restaurant. Guests can check-out kayaks, bicycles, and other equipment on a complementary basis on a first-come, first-serve basis. Other things to note Travel on island is available via golf cart or bicycles. One golf cart will be provided to you during your stay. Boats and Fun on North Captiva offers rentals for the more adventurous including paddle boards, jet skis and small boats. There are several companies that offer on shore and off shore fishing excursions and equipment rental. We even have the wonderful North Captiva Fishing Lady that will not only teach you how to fish, she will also teach you how to prepare and cook your catch. North Captiva Island also boosts a natural preserve with miles of secluded, pristine beaches perfect for hiking, exploring and picnics.
