The space Stay in an authentic stone house in the heart of the village of Mouthoumet, on the GR36. Bright, spacious and naturally cool in summer thanks to its thick walls, the Gîte de la Cougarde is the ideal base from which to discover the treasures of the Cathar Country: Cathar castles, beautiful gorges perfect for swimming and numerous hiking trails. The cottage offers a pleasant view of the village and is located on a quiet street with little traffic, conducive to a relaxing stay. You will enjoy its living room with sofas, equipped with a fireplace, a TV with a DVD player, and a very large DVD library. Numerous board games are also available for enjoying quality time with family or friends, as well as books. The gîte comprises of two bedrooms: - first bedroom with a double four-poster bed (140 × 190) & single bed (90 × 190); - a second bedroom equipped with four single bunk beds, ideal for children or groups. You will also enjoy a St. Tropez-style terrace, perfect for outdoor dining. It is equipped with garden furniture and a charcoal grill for barbecuing, so you can enjoy the outdoors. The gite has free Wi-Fi access and fiber optics, which is useful if you want to work remotely during your stay. The cell phone network is generally better near the window of the children's room, but you can also make your calls via Wi-Fi (WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.). You can stop in front of the cottage to unload your baggage, then park your vehicle in the municipal parking lot located a one-minute walk away. Access to the accommodation is via the back of the house. As your complete satisfaction is our concern, if you prefer a secluded cottage in the middle of nature, outside the village, we advise you to choose the Le Carcassès cottage located nearby, in Laroque de Fa. Practical information for groups: The water heater holds 200 liters but heats continuously throughout the day, so if there are 7 of you, you will have to spread out the showers over the day. Guest access Guests have private access to the rental, via 7 steps at the back of the house. The rental is located on the first and second floor of a village house. Other things to note Please bring your own linens and towels. If necessary, it is possible to rent them. The view from the windows is of the village. The street is very quiet. We are flexible for your arrival time, but in case of a rental just before you, it is possible that the vacation rental is only ready at 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. maximum. But, in general, it is possible to arrive earlier. Contact us for more information. The vacation rental has electric heaters in each room, the price of which is included in the rental price.
