An ancient farmhouse in Maglie: once a place to welcome Franciscan pilgrims, Giardino Frannicola today celebrates Salento hospitality. As soon as you walk through the gate, the garden welcomes you with an extraordinary variety of local plants. Among the greenery, carved stones, ancient ceramics and wrought-iron elements emerge, an expression of Salento craftsmanship. Upon entering the room, time seems to slow down and every detail becomes an invitation to rediscover the pleasure of simple things. The space The influence of Greek culture is deeply rooted in Salento. This is evidenced by Griko, which is still spoken in the villages around Maglie. To enhance this identity and celebrate Mediterranean hospitality, the three rooms at Giardino Frannicola have Greek names. The rooms retain the original structure and materials of the farmhouse. Spacious and bright (about 25 square meters), they are air-conditioned and equipped with a private bathroom in Trani marble. Each room has a comfortable 25-cm-thick mattress, a small fridge with fresh water, and a machine with coffee, tea, and herbal teas. A cot or crib can be added upon request. The furnishings are unique pieces handcrafted by local artisans with materials that tell the story of the region: 19th-century wrought iron beds, solid olive wood desks, and ceramic lights give the rooms an authentic and timeless charm. A library dedicated to Salento and a fast internet connection (Wi-Fi and LAN) are available for guests. There is no television, however: a conscious choice that invites you to slow down and experience the place. A private terrace, with a table, chairs, and a deck chair, leads to each room and opens onto the Mediterranean garden in a private and quiet space. Guest access Adjacent to the farmhouse is a large, free public parking lot, ideal for leaving your car and getting around on foot without worries.
