Privacy abounds at Sandy Cut Cabins Crooked Cabin, only a short two miles from downtown Saluda. The cabin is tucked away in 15 acres of mountain land. While being surrounded by nature can be an enjoyable and relaxing break from hectic day to day life, please realize this cabin is in the woods and we have carpenter bees and camel crickets along with some ants. We strive to keep pests at bay but they are part of mountain life. Shared spaces include the designated fire pit and the overlook bench. The cabin is located in the woods with 2 other cabins, each secluded from the others. Since it’s in the woods, wildlife may visit on occasion. Please remember that they are wild. The driveway is steep at the bottom but levels off. You may need low gear but keep it consistent without hesitation and you should be fine. Guests have access to the whole cabin and the outdoor fire pit along with the overlook bench. We don’t live on the property but we’re only 5 miles away and can be reached by phone, text or email. The cabin is 2 miles from downtown Saluda, on a gravel road. Pearson Falls waterfall is another mile past the driveway. For those who enjoy hiking, you can access the railroad tracks about halfway down the driveway, follow it into town. There are several eating establishments in Saluda including: The Purple Onion, Ward’s Grill, Wildflour Bake Shop, Saluda Grill (at the truck stop), Back Alley Barn, Subway. The list changes periodically so you can also check the Saluda website. There’s room for 3 vehicles in front of the cabin. It’s 2 miles into Saluda, some guests enjoy walking to town via the railroad tracks. We’re located in the mountains and the driveway is very steep. However, most guests manage without much trouble. Going slow and steady, and using low gear helps. Pickup trucks have the most trouble unless they’re equipped with all-wheel drive or have extra weight in the bed.
