The Old Orchard Cottage

A beautiful fully self contained 2 bedroom holiday home in the charming historic village of St Bathans, Central Otago. Built using the traditional method of mud brick with 2 bedrooms (1 double bed in the first bedroom and 1 three quarter bed or small double in the second bedroom) and a sofa in the lounge that converts to a small double bed. A warm and cosy little home with all modern amenities. Ideal for Rail trail riders, families, or a quiet romantic get away from the maddening crowds. The space We have created a beautifully appointed cosy cottage to escape the rigours of city life and in keeping with the historical location we used the traditional construction of mud bricks giving the place a vintage look but with all modern amenities inside. The cottage is warm and cosy in the winter and cool in the summer. Guest access Guests have full use of the cottage. Other things to note Please leave the cottage as you found it, clean and presentable and do your dishes before you leave. Please leave sheets and towels in the bathroom to be washed. We have a property manager who will take care of that. Please note the second bedroom has a 3/4 size or small double bed. It will take two people but it is cosy. There is no land line phone or cell phone access at this stage but up the hill behind the cottage or a short drive up Downs Road at the other end of the village you will get all the coverage you want. Please bring drinking water with you as St Bathans water supply is serviced by a dam and water races. Boiled water is fine for hot drinks.
