Nestled on a 30-acre working fig and finger lime orchard in the Yarra Valley, Cherry Orchard Cabin offers a peaceful retreat with fresh air and sweeping hill views. Just an hour from Melbourne, it’s perfect for exploring nearby wineries, many just a short drive away, and 2.5 km from the Warburton Rail Trail. The iconic Puffing Billy Railway and Healesville Sanctuary are also nearby, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers and those seeking a blend of relaxation and adventure. The space CHERRY ORCHARD CABIN – YARRA VALLEY OUR STORY After more than 55 years of tending cherries in the Yarra Valley, we made the heartfelt decision in early 2024 to retire from cherry farming and focus entirely on growing figs and finger limes. While it wasn’t an easy choice, it allows us to spend more time welcoming guests and sharing the beauty of our property. ABOUT THE CABIN Set among orchards and rolling hills, Cherry Orchard Cabin is a peaceful farm escape with modern comforts and country charm. RATES: Standard rate covers 2 guests (one bedroom). If 2 guests wish to use both bedrooms, please book for 3 guests — extra $60/night. EXTRAS: Port-a-cot available ($30 per stay), highchair on request. VISITORS: Only registered guests are permitted unless pre-approved by your host, Brigitte. SPECIAL EVENTS: Perfect for wedding preparations (extra cleaning costs apply - enquire within). INSIDE THE CABIN KITCHEN: Fully equipped with gas cooktop, Miele electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, espresso coffee machine, rice cooker, toaster, kettle, teapot, cookware, crockery, glassware and more! LIVING AREA: Open-plan design with free-standing gas log fire and 65-inch smart TV — perfect for cosy nights in. Please note that the gas log fireplace is not operational during the summer season. This is a standard seasonal arrangement. (During the months of December, January & February) BEDROOMS: Two queen rooms, each with reverse-cycle heating/cooling; one with full wall-to-wall wardrobe. BATHROOM: Spacious bathroom with Shower, extra-large vanity, separate toilet. OUTDOORS: Covered BBQ area, seating with valley views, and parking right beside the cabin. LOCATION The Yarra Valley is a living postcard, changing with every season. In spring, orchards all around burst into soft pink and white blossom, and the air is sweet with new growth. Summer brings lush greenery, warm evenings, and golden sunsets over the rolling hills. Autumn paints the valley in deep golds, reds, and russets, while winter wraps the landscape in crisp morning mist and a gentle stillness — perfect for cosy fireside evenings. From your cabin, you might spot kangaroos grazing in the paddocks, (often the resident kangaroos come and hang around the B&Bs and our homes usually towards dusk & dawn, kookaburras laughing from the treetops, or a flash of colour as parrots dart past. At night, the sky glitters with stars far from city lights, reminding you just how peaceful this place truly is. Within a short drive, the Yarra Valley offers countless experiences. Visit the HEALESVILLE SANCTUARY, where you can meet native Australian wildlife in a beautiful bushland setting. Step aboard the iconic PUFFING BILLY steam train and journey through towering mountain ash and across historic trestle bridges. For outdoor explorers, the LILYDALE–WARBURTON RAIL TRAIL offers a scenic route for walking, cycling, or horse riding, winding through farmland, vineyards, and forest, with charming café stops along the way. Wine lovers will be spoiled for choice with over 160 WINERIES, from boutique cellar doors to grand estates with sweeping views. SILVAN DAM RESERVE provides peaceful picnic spots among towering gums, while SKYHIGH MOUNT DANDENONG delivers panoramic vistas stretching all the way to Melbourne. In spring, the TESSELAAR TULIP FARM blooms in a kaleidoscope of colour, and in winter, MOUNT DONNA BUANG transforms into a snowy wonderland. Whether you’re here for wildlife encounters, steam train adventures, wine tasting, or scenic trails, every day in the Yarra Valley offers something unforgettable. EXTRA ACCOMMODATION We also offer FIG ORCHARD CABIN, a cosy retreat for up to two adults (no infants or children). ESSENTIALS An assortment of teas, coffee pods and instant coffee, and milk for your first night are provided. Woolworths and Aldi are just 4km away in Seville, along with cafés, bakeries, and restaurants. Guest access By arrangement with the hosts, guests are invited to stroll through the farm, soaking in its sweeping vistas, tranquil atmosphere, and the gentle presence of local wildlife. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
