My place is in Madison's favorite neighborhood. It is 3 blocks from beautiful Lake Monona and has great cafes, grocery stores, art, culture, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love it here because of the location, coziness, beautiful gardens, and people. It's good for solo adventurers, business travelers, couples, & families with children of all ages. Cozy Serene is a popular room with a comfortable full-size bed, large desk & chair, and plenty of storage space in the closet & dresser. I affectionately call my place the Cozy Palace. People say it has some kind of cozy charm. I feel the wood floors and older furniture along with the colorful rugs, walls, decor, inside twinkly lights, and gardens on all sides make it very comfortable home and living experience. The living room has a comfortable sectional couch, 2 comfy big chairs (one is a rocker), a piano, a smart TV, and a great view. The dining room table works beautifully for 2-4 guests, and also expands to seat 12 people, if you want to have a dinner party. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and baking. There are a few basic ingredients, in addition to a selection of tea, as well. It has an electric tea pot, French coffee press and coffee grinder. I have been here almost 22 years and put in a lot of love and care, and hope you’ll enjoy it too! In addition to bedroom space there is a dining room, kitchen and full bathroom. Ask about using my second room if you have a need for another bed or larger than a full-size bed... Also feel free to let me know your circumstances and request a further discount if you need it. A washer and dryer and the half bathroom are in the basement that guests may use. There are clothes lines both inside and outside. Also I have a garage if there is a need to store or lock a bicycle or other items. There are front and back porches, gardens, and a private sunny spot behind the garage that guests are welcome to enjoy as well. I follow the wishes of each guest as to how much interaction they wish to have with me, and how much they may want to talk when we do see each other. I respect privacy, and am more than willing to warmly welcome and provide directions, ideas, and guidance for getting the most enjoyment out of Madison and their visit. I live and work in the basement and sometimes would like to ask permission to visit this space for the shower, to get my mai, water plants, and to have access to my items in your bedroom closet. Sometimes I might like to host a dinner party and would certainly discuss this with you beforehand. My home is in a very quiet and friendly neighborhood. Guests who have stayed remark that they get really good sleep at night here. During the day it is lively with neighbors walking for exercise or with their children and/or dogs. Nearby are abundant possibilities for walks along Lake Monona (just 3 blocks away) and Yahara River, coffee, lunch, take out or a great dinner at nearby cafes and restaurants. Also there is an awesome neighborhood grocery store - The Jenifer St Market with hot meals to go, and an extensive deli counter.. Best of all, are the people. That's why I have lived in this neighborhood for 21 years and plan to be here for even longer... Free parking is available within a block walk, if not right out the back door. Nearby - within 2-3 blocks are bus stops. These buses will take you downtown, University WI campus, and all points North, South, East and West. I provide you with a Madison Metro booklet with the schedules and maps. Also there are red bikes to rent within a 7 minute walk of here. I have a wonderful cat named Mucho Gusto that wanders through the house, and if you wish your apartment as well. You can choose to lock your apartment cat door if you don't want him in there. Enter in the back door off of Ohio Ave. Please remove your shoes in hallway before entering my home. I have written a thorough house manual that you’ll find on this site once you make your reservation. And you’ll find a written copy of it in your room when you arrive.
