The space Your experience begins directly in Piazza Pitti, in one of the square’s most magnificent historical 16th -Century buildings, and originally, the setting where servants and waiting staff were sent for training before being allowed to serve Florence’s rulers, the Medici whilst they lived at the Pitti Palace. Nestled in the very heart of Florence’s Oltrarno quarter, just a stone’s throw from Ponte Vecchio, with wonderful antique shops and hidden gems, this is for sure one of the most idyllic quarters of Florence. A true Renaissance-era setting, allow Pitti Historical Home to provide you with memories of a lifetime where the unique combination of state of the art technology, a true rainbow of designs and styles, alongside the structure’s original renaissance features and magnificent frescoes which adorn virtually every room, have been perfectly intertwined to create a setting for the most comfortable of stays when travelling away from home. Our beautiful home situated on the 1st floor (with elevator) comfortably accommodates 8 guests in 4 double suites, with an additional 2 guests on 2 beautiful chaise lounges located in two of the bedrooms. Complete with luxury fabrics, original pieces of furniture dating back to the liberty period (as well as a dining table and chairs from Mussolini’s house near Antignano!), it is like walking back in time. The apartment boasts 4 beautiful bathrooms with distinctive hand-carved Italian marble for unsurpassed beauty and elegance, each one with spectral LED Mood Lighting and luxury furnishings. Beautiful 16th and 17th Century frescoes adorn the walls and ceilings, magnificent Chandeliers and wall sconces with hand-cut crystal form translucent prisms that sparkle and illuminate whilst a state of the art home sound system allows you to play the music of your choice. Whilst the outdoor terrace offers postcard views of Piazza Pitti, the spacious chef-style kitchen is a worthy setting for culinary magic. Learn to cook Italian style in your own authentic kitchen or why not sit down and relax and enjoy a private chef dinner. The beautiful wooden table opposite the kitchen – sits up to 12 – is the perfect spot to gather with friends or family for breakfast or sit down and tuck into a delicious meal. We’ve even included our own personal trove of family recipes, so you can savor the enticing aromas of the traditional Italian cuisine, glass of wine in hand, surrounded by the people you love. The modern kitchen is as functional as it is beautiful. The living room and all four bedrooms boasts magnificent original 16th – 18th Century frescoes both on the walls and ceilings. The intense restoration project which began early 2018 has endeavoured to embellish the beauty of each room by leaving each fresco entirely as it was found and simply toning and harmonizing the rest of each room to create the unique final look you will find today. Each room has been lavishly furnished with quality fabrics bearing the colours of the Renaissance period palette. Complete with flat screen HD Smart TV’s, air conditioning, soundproof windows and comfortable beds, each bedroom is unique in its own right: Master Bedroom: The master bedroom and most lavish of the four suites has been elegantly furnished in azurite blu. This suite boasts a double bed, magnificent walk in shower, chaise lounge (that can be transformed into an extra bed) and delightful ensuite bathroom. You may never want to get out of bed due to the incredible views the windows offer! Bedroom 1: Italian sunlight streams into this bedroom which also boats beautiful views onto Piazza Pitti. With two very comfortable single beds (or one extra large king bed), this second bedroom has been furnished in reddish copper gold. The bathroom is just a few meters away and boasts a beautiful walk in glass shower and separate bathtub perfect for a long hot bath. Choose your own light setting to create the perfect atmosphere and sit back and relax. What is more the room boasts a chaise lounge that can be transformed into an extra bed to create a spacious triple. Bedroom 3: Furnished in the same red copper tones, this comfortable suite offers the choice of two large singles or one extra large king sized bed with en-suite bathroom and walk in shower. Bedroom 4: With highly colourful ceiling frescoes dating to the 19th Century, this lovely suite boasts a comfortable double bed with walk in wardrobe and beautiful ensuite bathroom with large walk in shower. The apartment comes with an initial welcome pack of bottled water, basic items for cooking such as oil, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee pods, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder and toilet roll; as well as 2 small bottles of shower gel, shampoo and body lotion per bathroom. This is of course a self-catering apartment and guests are reminded that they can purchase items to last the full length of their stay directly at the local stores or supermarkets close by, some of which do not close until 9-10pm. Guest access The house is all yours to use and enjoy as you please. If we need to access the property for any reason we will always let you know in advance. Other things to note Extra services: Maid service means you won’t have to worry about making the bed and we’re also available to help you hire a private chef or personal driver for day trips or excursions around Tuscany including retail therapy at one of Tuscany’s renowned shopping outlets.
