Description

A peaceful and spacious 1200 sqft two bed apartment taking up the entire top floor of our eight bedroomed Regency Villa, on one of central Cheltenham's finest residential roads. Perfectly situated and providing the best of both worlds : a short stroll, 0.8 miles, to the shops, bars and restaurants of Cheltenham, combined with a relaxing private garden and heated swimming pool. The Cotswold Way, for walking trails, is close by. A great base for girls weekends, families, and couples. The space The apartment ( 1200sqft ) consists of the entire top floor of our large Grade II listed Regency family home, built in 1843 , the year Charles Dickens' published 'A Christmas Carol' and sits within a conservation area. Decorated with a contemporary decor and full sized oven/hob, fridge , freezer etc., the apartment comprises a large hallway, two spacious bedrooms, a sitting room/kitchen and a shower room. The bedrooms are situated behind the turreted roof so they are totally private and wonderfully quiet for such a central location. The apartment is centrally heated and cozy with blackout blinds in the bedrooms. All bedrooms and the sitting room are fitted with lockable doors. Bedroom one is spacious ( 18'8 x 14' sqft) with a kingsize bed and a relaxed seating area consisting of two chairs and a coffee table, addition to masses of storage. Bedroom two is also large, (14.5x13.10 sqft) , with a double bed , washbasin, fitted wardrobes and a chest of drawers. We can also include a desk if desired. The crisp quality White Company bedlinen is professionally laundered and each bed has a White Company luxury mattress topper. In addition to the fully equipped kitchen , including a Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary coffee pods, the sitting room has a dining area, a comfortable sofa and chairs, TV /DVD and Netflix and Amazon Prime. There are wonderful views from here to the Cotswold hills beyond. Kitchen essentials such as tea , coffee milk and condiments are supplied . Continental breakfast , including cereals, orange juice, croissants/ bread, butter and jam are included. The shower room is fairly compact in size and houses a shower, wash basin and loo. Toiletries are included. Although we don't have a dedicated washing machine /dryer in the apartment , guests are most welcome to use our washer/dryer which is on the lower ground floor. The large, private rear enclosed garden has separate areas for relaxing and dining , each with quality comfortable Oka garden furniture , including two full size sun loungers by the heated swimming pool. Guest access The entire apartment is for guest use and no areas are shared. We live on the three floors below the apartment. To get your visit off to the best start, unless there are extenuating circumstances , I always greet guests personally and show them around the apartment and hand over the keys. On the rare occasion I can't be there in person, the keys are held in the lock box next to the back door. Our home has two staircases. front and back, as was typical of large houses of this era and guests have sole use of the back staircase leading up to the apartment . Guests access the apartment through the back door immediately adjacent to the back staircase and have their own key to come and go as they please. We have private parking for up to five cars. We can also securely store bikes etc. Our private garden, with several seating areas for morning coffee, evening drinks or dining, is available for guests to enjoy as is our outdoor heated swimming pool . We have pool inflatables for the children to enjoy and comfortable sun loungers by the pool. Due to the British climate , our pool is open between mid April and late September. Other things to note There is a short flight of 5 steps leading from the garden to the back door . As this is an original Regency building , some of these have been worn down by the passage of time. The apartment is accessed by a spiral staircase and consists of 3 flights of stairs, from the bottom to the top of the house. These are fairly steep and regrettably are unsuitable for any guests with mobility issues, elderly guests who are not confident on stairs or infants/ young children. Families with older children ( 5 years+) are very welcome. We have one small and friendly dog, a Maltese terrier. He is not allowed on the top floor but is resident in the house!
