From its perch on a hilltop high above the scenic Quechee Valley, "Meadow Vista" strikes a perfect balance between cul-de-sac privacy and the convenience of a location less than a mile from the four-season amenities of the Quechee Club. You'll wake up every morning to breathtaking 180-degree views from a modern kitchen, dining room, living room, and upstairs bedrooms. Typically available from October through mid-May. this is one of the most spectacular rental properties Quechee has to offer. "Spacious" is a word that succinctly describes this home, whose living spaces are spread across more than 4,000 square feet on three levels. While the center of the house features an open kitchen / dining room / living room gathering space with panoramic views of the valley, there are plenty of hide-away spaces as well: a cozy fireplace den, a study with a mountain-view bay window, and a lower-level game room and bedroom (stairs to bathroom) for the family. An adjacent heated 3-car garage (2 bays available for guests) keeps your car warm and snow-free during the winter months. Set on more than 5 acres of classic Vermont meadowland sloping into the valley, the back yard also doubles as a private sledding hill. While we list six regular beds, an additional trundle bed expands the comfortable sleeping capacity to as many as 10 guests. Technology: Meadow Vista is outfitted with high-speed (gigabit) Wifi and Ethernet connections to the internet, a premium Comcast Xfinity TV streaming package, unlimited domestic calling, and an AppleTV unit with nearly 500 movie titles purchased and ready to watch. The garage is equipped with a 48-amp Tesla destination charger for overnight EV charging. Eco-orientation: The home exclusively employs "green" non-toxic cleaning supplies, offers mineral rich, fluoride- and chlorine-free Vermont mountain water, and prides itself on creating an eco-friendly, healthy vacation getaway. There is a small isolated owners' apartment with a separate entrance located above the three-bay garage. This apartment is sometimes used by the hosts during the winter months when they are in town. When there, the hosts use the third garage bay for their car. While your hosts typically live elsewhere, we and/or family members stay on rare occasions in a totally separate owners' apartment above the garage which is adjacent to the main house, and with its own entrance. Even when owners are present in their apartment, the Airbnb house is very private. A local property manager is available to meet any short-term needs for those staying at Meadow Vista. While Quechee offers a virtual cornucopia of activities year-round, winter in this heart of Vermont ski country is very special. In addition to its family-friendly ski slopes, chair lifts, and ski school and ski racing course less than five minutes from Meadow Vista, the Quechee Club features miles of groomed Nordic cross-country and snowshoe trails across its scenic golf courses and wilderness areas, a skating rink, winter platform tennis and squash court, a sledding hill, indoor pool, and a well-equipped Health Club,. More rigorous ski challenges can be found at nearby Killington, Pico, Ascutney, Okemo, and Saskadena Six resort slopes. In addition to the fine dining you'll find in Quechee Village at places like the world-famous Simon Pearce glassworks and the Quechee Inn, the nearby towns of Woodstock, White River Junction and Hanover, New Hampshire (home of Dartmouth College) offer the widest possible variety of culinary and recreational options. In the spring and fall, Quechee is known as a launching point for spectacular hot-air balloon rides over the hills and rivers of the Upper Valley. And the Vermont Institute for Natural Sciences (4 miles away) offers year-round nature programs that will captivate the entire family. Meadow Vista is just 10 minutes from the crossroads of Interstate highways 89 and 91 and the Vermont-New Hampshire border. It is a two-hour drive from Boston and less than 90 minutes from airports in both Burlington, Vermont, and Manchester, New Hampshire.
