The colourful village of Eyeries is just a short distance away, with shops and traditional pubs that regularly feature Irish music. Take a stroll on the famous Beara Way, which passes to the front of this holiday home for scenery that will linger long in the memory. A trip to the expansive beach in Allihies, and to Castletownbere to sample the fresh seafood in one of the superb restaurants is well worth it. Visit Dursey Island, accessible from Ireland’s only cable car, or just wander the miles of rugged coastline that surround your home-away-from-home. Further afield, day trips to Kenmare, Killarney and the Ring of Kerry are a must, plus across the bay, an area of south west Kerry has been designated as a dark skies reserve.
