Beautiful lakes and mountains nearby for walks and adventures. Cockermouth market town is 4 miles away, with supermarkets, good independent shops, restaurants and cafes. The space The Granary is a romantic retreat for two, a luxury getaway for a group of friends or a cosy pad for a family of up to four. Relax and enjoy the beautiful western Lake District nearby. The barn conversion mixes contemporary design with traditional materials and was renovated and restored using local craftsmen and materials. Enjoy the deep double-ended bath and large walk-in shower. The bedrooms have comfy Sealy posturetech sprung beds with oak and elm headboards. The contemporary chalet style open plan living space is upstairs with deep comfy sofas, wood burning stove, a hand crafted oak and slate kitchen, with great views across to the Buttermere fells and Skiddaw. The accommodation comprises: Ground Floor: Entrance hall and bathroom with underfloor heating, down two steps to the bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has two singles, or on request, they can zipped together to make a super king bed. First Floor: Upstairs to chalet style open plan lounge with seating for four, wi-fi and smart TV, wood burning stove (one basket of wood provided), dining area and kitchen area with dishwasher, fridge with freezer box, washer/drier and oven with hob and microwave and Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Outside: At the front is a small area with seating and views. At the back is a small sheltered rear patio area with seating and washing line. Private off-road parking space for one car is immediately adjacent to the cottage. Guest access All of the cottage is available to guests. Lockbox with code allows guests self check-in, flexibility and total independence. Other things to note We offer accommodation all year round. Short breaks or by the week or longer but with a minimum 3 night stay. The Lake District is on the doorstep with activities and experiences nearby to help make your stay interesting, enjoyable and/or relaxing. From the cottage there are views over open farmland towards the Buttermere fells and Skiddaw. The cottage is in the small village of Deanscales, which has a super pub 500m walk from cottage (The Old Posting House). Deanscales is about 4 miles south from the market town of Cockermouth, 14 miles west from Keswick and 8 miles east of the beautiful Solway coast. It is 260m wide and 6m long (the gravel part is 4m and the tarmac bit at the front is 2m)
