A very sunny one-bedroom apartment at the back of an interior courtyard. There is a large patio and private fenced backyard with a grill. Shopping is easy with a full-size, mid-priced grocery store (Publix) and a large drugstore (CVS) just a short block away. Central air conditioning. Office desk & chair. Also, the bedroom is open to the living room. There is not a door in the doorway between them. Kitchen: The Kitchen is equipped for real cooking. There are sharp knives and a full set of non-stick pots and pans. Coffee: Keurig coffee maker. We provide 4 pods to get you started. 4K SmartTV, log on to your Netflix/HBO/etc account Wi-Fi: two internet connections (AT&T and Comcast) provide redundancy. Both are the highest residential speeds available. Stream 4K movies or do video calls. Parking: unassigned parking in front of the building Babies: every unit has a crib, and a highchair is available on request. Beach gear: we provide beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler. Private patio Gas grill: you are welcome to clean it to your satisfaction and then to use it. Most guests just heat it up to 400-500 degrees, brush it off a bit, and find that satisfactory. If the gas runs out, let us know, and we will fill it the next morning (Sundays excepted). You will find the key in a lockbox when I arrive. I am very responsive to email, and I have a professional property manager who lives just a mile away. The interior courtyard is its own little oasis of calm and quiet. The surrounding neighborhood is safe but nothing special as the building is on a semi-busy 4-lane road. Major grocery store (Publix) just one block away. Drugstore, Dunkin Donuts, and many other shops and restaurants are on Sunrise, just one block away. Uber! Rent a car! Please, please, please do not come to Florida thinking you are going to rely on taxis or public transportation. The taxis are awful in every way. Public transportation is do-able in limited circumstances. Download Uber on your smartphone. Enterprise Rent-a-Car is just one block away. -Asthma, allergies, respiratory problems or hyper-sensitive to smells? This is an old apartment. It was built with lots of wood, it is surrounded by flowers and bushes, and it has had many experiences. If you have these conditions, it probably won’t be the right choice for you. -We only clean the grill every 90 days. For most guests it is enough to heat the grill up to sanitize it's but if you want a freshly cleaned grill, this is not the right choice for you. Generally speaking, if you heat it up to 400-500 degrees, it is completely sanitized. Then you brush it to get any remnants off of it. But it's really not possible to do more than that unless you just throw away the grill after every use and get a new one. -This is an old house and the unit is on the ground floor. Bugs are a constant battle in Florida. You may encounter some during your stay. We exterminate using traps, bait, sprays, and fumigation. There is bug spray on the top shelf in the kitchen cabinet furthest from the sink. If you need us to come and exterminate, we can send someone Monday through Saturday (Sundays are more difficult). -We clean ovens about every 90 days. For most guests heating the oven to 325F (160C) is enough to sterilize it after the previous guest. -All of our TVs (in all units) are 4K Smart TVs (mostly Samsung). They have apps preinstalled for Netflix, HBO, etc, and you can sign on to your own streaming accounts. We do not, however, have cable. Local channels are very limited.
